Yeah unfortunately they haven’t ever played their Japanese songs abroad, I guess it’s a licensing thing (I don’t really know how it works legally). However Twice was recently interviewed saying they would like to play their Japanese songs and are seeing if they could make it happen. I think they know how much international fans like those songs lol

breakthrough is that bitch. i'm usually one to lean more towards bright twice (for title tracks at least) but breakthrough had me hooked from that opening synth. happy happy jeongyeon was my profile pic on discord for like, a solid 6 months when it came out though. both so good!! :)

Favorite Japan release is easily "Fake and True" for me, followed closely by "Doughnut" and "Perfect World". What I will say tho, even tho you've probably heard this a million times for all the groups, the b-sides are amazing. Japanese b-sides are easily just as good if not better than most of their Korean releases. It helps that JYPE doesn't hold back on the budget for both the producing of the songs as well as the MVs that go with it. Their best ballads are Japanese songs. In terms of Breakthrough lyrics, 2 lines best describe what the song is about: "I'm prepared to overcome any obstacles" and "The world awaits for me to shine". There is a Korean version of Breakthrough that was released as a b-side for one of their Korean albums, they did perform it at a fanmeet I believe, but never in a concert outside of Japan, tho there is always a chance.

I saw you reacted to yezi and I just wanted to recommend giant pink, tymee*one if not THE fastest Korean female rapper*,and yoon whos known as the godmother of hip hop in Korea and is blasian. Love twice Japanese releases, if you wanted to get into jpop I recommend faky, bananalemon, and happiness the sub group from egirls. I could put pacific songs if that'll help
