I was Barry Lategan’s assistant then, remember Leonard coming in with Twiggy. Usually we shot in the evenings after a day of commercial work shooting ‘tests’ for Vidal and Leonard. Can’t remember how long this particular shoot was, most likely 2 hours and definitely classical music playing. Barry was very precise in everything, a great photographer. As Twiggy said we all were so immersed in the 60s that we had no idea at all what an incredible time it was. Given all that Twiggy has lived through it’s great to see that she still has that youthful joy that I remember from that very day.

I remember being obsessed with that photo in my teenage years. One of the most - if the not THE most iconic portraits in all of photography history.

I’m so glad this series is back! Twiggy’s contribution to the industry should definitely be noted. Models are incredibly important to this industry, but they get little recognition. I look forward to hearing more of their stories.

Twiggy’s look was a great inspiration to me in the early to mid 90’s as a hair and makeup artist. Her own invention ‘Twiggy Eyes’ were iconic.

She is incredibly delectable!!! She does not take her famous past seriously. Which I think Jean Shrimpton did. It even makes her more special And she has the same vulnerability that Audrey (Hepburn) has. So how can Anybody not fall in love with her????

When will Twiggy release a new musical album? I have been waiting since 2012, after she released Romantically Your in November 2011.

Wow, why did KZbin recommended this? I know nothing of fashion but do remember her from a spread in some magazine my mother had as a hair dresser. The pictures were very provocative for the time and I was a young male so of course I looked. I like her.

Twiggy was the first supermodel. Lisa Fonssagrives may have been the first one to be called a supermodel but it was Twiggy who was the first to become a household name.

Poor model, Penelope Tree had to leave modelling very early. And Why? Becos she developed adult acne. And so much for all the ppl in the 60’s being about love and caring? That was total crap, according to Penelope Tree. She’s gone on record as saying that when she got adult acne, ppl no longer wanted her or wanted to even know her. She said in the 1960’s everyone was out for themselves. Anyway her acne went on for ages. So she left London. And She never returned to modelling.

The “right, mmhmm, yeah, right, mmmhm” of Nick Knight during Twiggy’s stories ruined the conversation. It was insufferable.

he is such a fabulous photographer but as an interviewer he has some bad habits which he needs to stop. continually interrupting humming, saying right etc. he should watch this on playback and try to practice being quiet when others talk. then he will be perfectamundo.
