CP 2816 is so beautiful. I'm so grateful to have CP 2816 as an HO scale brass model from Van Hobbies/Samhongsa. It's unpainted, but it still looks cool. 😎 I enjoyed the video. Excellent cinematography as usual. 👏😊

From what I was told, they removed them when 2816 crossed into the US

@@tonysamtraktrainvideos Why exactly? Is there some regulation that it has to have them? Never seen a US-based mainline steam locomotive have ditch lights in recent years. Or is this a matter of personal preference?

​@@michaelstrains4014That's a good question! Maybe the rules for railroads in Canada are different than in the US. CP did have ditchlights on their diesels before any other class 1 railroad back in the day before the US mandated ditchlights in the 1990s. However C&O 614 did have ditchlights and still does today
