Yes he did. Nearly 2,000 years ago. But on the 3rd day he rose again from the dead, conquering sin And death. He died so that we could be reconciled to the One True God, who is His Father and the Father of all creation, including Each and Every human soul. Past, present and future. You might ask why would we need to be reconciled? Because God is perfect, and sin is quite the opposite. So, Jesus took up the cross and died as a sacrifice so that we, tho yet sinners, could be saved By Grace. A song that describes this is Hillsong Worship-Grace To Grace. And this scripture passage- Ephesians ch. 2 vs. 8 & 9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and not this from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works so that no one can boast. You are not your own for you were bought at a Price.-1 Corinthians ch. 6 vs. 19 & 20. Romans ch. 6 vs 23- For the Wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. There’s a movie that came out a couple of years ago called The Case For Christ. It talks about archaeological, physical, and some other things that I can’t think of. The evidence is, not only stunning what the human body goes thru while being crucified, but also the amount of witnesses who saw him carry the cross...over 500 people.

According to Luke Johnson, a New Testament scholar at Emory University, "Even the most critical historian can confidently assert that a Jew named Jesus worked as a teacher and wonder-worker in Palestine during the reign of Tiberius, was executed by crucifixion under the prefect Pontius Pilate and continued to have followers after his death." So yes, he most certainly did die. I also think there is very good evidence that he rose from the dead, but that's a whole nother topic.
