As someone who is still very new to this game, it amazes me how comprehensive your videos are. I feel like I could watch any one of these and feel confident enough to have a good grasp of that faction. Even if it's my first time playing them. It's such a good resource for new players. 👍😁👍

I've read/watched a lot of Letnev guides and this is the only one that doesn't hammer the point that Technology should be your first strategy card. Interesting. Prepping for my first letnev game tomorrow (and 2nd game ever)

Dreadnaught 2 blocks direct hits. Any Barony player is going to tech Gravity Drive, then AIDA, then Dreadnaught 2, then Non-Euclidian Shielding, then Duranium armor. If they think you might have a direct hit, sustain on a dread 2 first. If not, go ahead and sustain on the flagship which repairs at the start of a combat round even without duranium.

Non-Euclidian and Duranium is about overkill, no? I'd probably go Assault Cannon or Lightwave (with blue skip)

@@Emanon... you've never tried to fight a fleet that could absorb more hits than you can deal out while repairing it all away.

@@Emanon... it would be overkill 90% of fights, but that one fight to make or break the game against another aggressive faction it isn't overkill. Also, ships don't heal until the next game round so if multiple players are attacking you it isn't overkill imo.

So Letnev(yeah, not calling them just “Barony”) starts with enough to fully utilize the double tech primaryfrom the get go, since your starting fleet is decent is that worth considering?

Statistically the Letnev are the worst faction in the game. The reason being that you do not have any game changing abilities for the end game. No 4VP rounds for the Letnev. That’s why I play them very aggressive right out of the gate, psychotic bully style. Attack anything just because you can, cripple your neighbours by using Warfare to attack their only carrier. Most times, the other player will still not gang up on you, but just leave you alone. Use blackmail only for achieving an objectives, but keep attacking small fleets and low defence planets all the time, especially against mobile races that try to get away it, just because attacking them without an objective isn’t worth the command counter. Project your power with terror. The fact that the Letnev are super strong in defence is what makes this strategy more worth while then the Nekro or L1Z1X which are similar, everybody hates you, but nobody wants to spend the enormous resources necessary to stop you. If you are not in the mood being the Bully, play some other faction. The Letnev are called the Space Russian for a reason, lie, attack, lie more, attack more and never mind the wellbeing of your own people.
