Strider Zessei yeah the pre order bonuses are nice. We got a card with a URL and a code with the gencon release that, from what I hear, is a way to get the pre order bonuses, as they were not available at the gencon pre-release

About the Nekro Virus, they have a line text box on the back of their sheet, upper right corner. It's in Binary Code. It translates to the following: system_erDIErorDIEDIEDIE

TreeFrog851 thank you. I am not familiar with the expansion, I only play the base game. I usually play with a few new players which is difficult enough to teach, so adding the expansions were never a good option for me

The races of TI4 are the 17 major races from TI3 and its 2 expansions. Interestingly enough, TI3's core box had the major races from TI2 and its expansion, with two additional races which debuted as TI1 expansion races. ----TI3 10 Core Races ---TI2 core Federation of Sol The Barony of Letnev The Emirates of Hacan Sardakk N'oor Universities of Jol-Nar The Xxcha Kingdom -- TI2 expansion The Yssaril Tribes (completely broken and banned from play) The Mentak Coalition (personal fav, especially with their racial tech) -- TI1 expansion The Naalu Collective The L1Z1X Mindnet -- TI3 Shattered Empire The Clan of Saar The Embers of Muaat The Winnu The Yin Brotherhood (a hot mess, seems they corrected them in TI4) -- TI3 Shards of the Throne The Arborec The Nekro Virus The Ghosts of Creuss I will say, TI4 looks compelling, but I really don't like the art on the Yssaril or the Saar, wish they'd fix them for a reprint (not likely...)

Thanks for showing this. The other races are from expansions to the 3rd edition. The "coffin" ship looks like a flagship which is also an element from one of the expansions. Can't wait to get this.

Thanks for the video. Havent played much of TI3 since it takes way more time my group tends to enjoy, but wish to get this baby. Wanted to know, has anything changed mechanic or lore-wise about the Sardakk N'Orr? the only complaint i ever had with the game was how much bland they sounded and played

I posted the faction sheet images over on my Facebook page Facebook.com/koboldclub ... you can take a look at the abilities and stuff for individual factions there. not sure about the lore part, I haven't had time to delve into the new book or anything yet

The Sardakk N'orr have word-for-word the same lore on their back sheet. Lots of effort there to progress the narrative! Their home planets offer the same yield. They start with an additional carrier (great for expansion) but have no initial techs. They have essentially the same special ability +1 to combat rolls, but the definition changed to N'orr unit combat rolls. (So PDS don't benefit from this) Racial techs are similar to the SotT expansion techs. Which attempted to make them a bit more spectacular. Valkyrie Armor is now Valkyrie Particle Beam, and the text changed to make it easier to give essentially the same effect. Ground combat lets you eliminate opponents easier (they scored a hit? then so did you, even if you already did). Exotrireme is now their Dreadnought upgrade. So not only do you get a better hitting ship, you also get the effect of blowing it up to take out enemies. The text changed a little bit, making it unclear if you make those choices or they do, it's clear on the TI3 card, and I presume it's the same in the details. Their capital ship has some changes (most do). The C'Morran Norr in a bit cheaper in cost, hits far less, but carries an extra unit. Its effect is essentially the same however the extra +1 does applies to the other N'oor ships in the sector. If you were hoping for a heap of difference, you didn't get it. Many feel this race is still weak in design. That +1 on all rolls is pretty huge though. This makes their promissory note quite beneficial to another player. They are, IMHO one of the races that got an awesome upgrade on the art for their player card! Can't say the same for some other races.

I don't believe it, there's an insert. If they can go to the trouble of making one for this why can't they make descent size boxes and inserts for all games? Some are beyond ridiculous. Game of Thrones LCG 2nd Ed is a classic example. No insert, small box. Virtually leaves you scratching your head wondering how your going to organise your game. They make great games but poor storage solutions or lack of.

MasterJediAde alright, I tested it. The cards sleeved with ffg sleeves DO fit in the insert slots.. however they may stick up a little bit due to the increased thickness from the sleeves, but shouldn't be a problem if you push them down with the minis that sit on top of the card slots... however, I wouldn't trust the insert to keep the cards from going everywhere though sleeves or not! Let's hope for a broken token insert!

Merlijn vd. Veen the rules points that they streamlined along with the revamped player boards are also some great editions. Some of the tedious things have been streamlined. Less time tinkering and more time exploring and conquering the universe!!

TheDuskLycanroc there are tons out there! Check out board game geek online and search for 4x games. Star Wars rebellion is kind of a 4x game... not exactly but takes a lot of influence from the genre and is one of my other favorite games. Also forbidden stars if you can find a copy still (it's also not totally a 4x but close)

First, TI was never a wargame. It is a 4x game. Second, the "new" races are from two expansions to the third edition. Third, these weird ships are capital ships, the were added in the second expansion.
