Lol the impression you do of the sandshrew trainer from the anime is top notch. Also love some Ting-Louis!! Also, If you swap the words around it becomes Lu-Ting, sounds like Looting lol. Raifort is the History teacher in Scarlet/Violet, and starts you on the quest to find the Treasures of Ruin (Ting-Lu, Chien Pao, Wo-Chien, Chi-Yu) You got this video out quick! I was lurking in this stream and won on both predictions for the opening :D

27:50 I bet it’s because they combine two JP sets and it results in a bunch of commons, meaning while you’ll get around 8 in a pack, there are so many that the odds of getting a specific one is lower than the odds of getting a particular rare, which there are fewer of

30:25 we should have the sets like the Japanese 2 smaller instead of 1 bigger set

simplest solution is to increase the number of unique rares in each set. Instead of like 10-12, have 30. and make them the chase cards, so then they hold value and make you want to go buy packs, or at least help the secondary market. Who wouldn't want a holo rare buddy poffin that's $3 rather than a $2 non foil uncommon.

If TCG was more like the VG, then each Pokemon would have their own rarity. Drakloaks would be uncommon, Dreepys would be Common etc etc. In a pack you could be guaranteed 1 energy, 4 commons, 4 uncommons and 2 rares (or a chance of ultra rare etc).

Every time I open an ETB I'm reminded that status conditions are part of this game. I forgot. I can't remember the last time I've been or inflicted, poison, burn or sleep in the TCG. I do see para every now and then. Also I respect that you didn't edit out that "Initialization" stuff. I feel lot of people would have. Makes you seem more genuine.

I feel like we are really feeling the removal of non-holo rares when it comes to the holos being some of the most "reliable" hits. Not sure if I would want them back, not like they would help you get a certain common. It was nice to have rares that didn't wilt in the humidity. Surprised Clefairy/Clefable is back again too - that's five legal cards in this rotation.

kieren sounds good until you remember that arven could get you a switch + a damage modifier tool. An extra 30dmg can help get you there on some attacks and access to (reusable) switch is great for decks like control but using your supporter for turn for either one instead of both is just okay.

obviously bird keeper has rotated but just using it as an example of a supporter with a switch effect + another effect. if kieren did switch + 30dmg then its a great supporter that sees play.
