Backstory: In the midst of a downpour, Princess Twilight Sparkle sat in front of the graves of her deceased friends. She just couldn’t seem to let them go. She once remembered the best of times they all had, and she’s still not happy ruling without them. “I wish you were here,” she sobbed. “I wish you were more than just a happy memory, I wish I could make a brighter future, but not without you. You girls were so special to me, but now you’re all gone where I can’t follow. I really miss you all. I love you so much.” Celestia came up to her, and tried to give comfort. “Twilight, I know it’s so sad to say goodbye, but put away those tears they will still be with you.” Princess Twilight sniffed, “But why would they if I’d never see them again? If it weren’t for you, I should never had met them in the first place, and if it weren’t for you I shouldn’t have become an alicorn.” She then snapped. “Why didn’t you tell me that I would live forever!? Why didn’t you tell me that I could lose them!?” Celestia replied seriously, “Because I couldn’t bear to lose you too.” Princess Twilight exploded with rage, “What about my friends!? I couldn’t bear to lose them either. Don’t you remember what it’s like to rule alone!? We’re still the Elements Of Harmony, Equestria still needs us like I still need my friends. But without each other we’re not the Elements Of Harmony anymore. What part of that don’t you understand!?” Celestia realized her mistake and tried to reason with her, “Twilight…” but before she can say anything else, Princess Twilight silenced her by turning her back. “No! I’m done talking.” Then she stormed off completely heartbroken. Distant thunder rumbled as Celestia hung her head low. “I was wrong. I’m very sorry, Twilight. But in order to make it up to you, I’ll find a way to bring your friends back…somehow.”

Twilight would not be completely alone. She has her sister in-law Cadence and her niece Flury Heart. It's also strongly hinted that Pinkie Pie married Cheese Sandwich and had babies with him. So Twilight gets to hang out with her descendants. Plus there's Discord and Spike too.

A sad rainy day as twilight walked up to to the tomb stones of her dead friends. It had been almost a decade after the defeat of opaline Arcana and all knowledge and stories of equestria's past seem to fade away. Sad it was even though twilight still the crown of a princess she was not the ruler of equestria anymore as a new form of government took over princess ship presidents started taking place of kingdoms the white house was in full operation after the bill of rights and it seemed as if twilight felt that she dethroned by default ad modern technology took over phones, replaced pen 🖊️🖋️ pencils ✏️ paper videogames took over books television 📺 took over communication and newspapers and robots were in full experiment mode. As twilight looked at the old graves of her friends she had lots of things on her mind as she was soaked to the skin from being in the rain for a long period of time she was cold and wet but at the same distraught after years of loss of her friends thanks to opaline Arcana who somewhere banished in hidden parts of equestria. Not only that it had been years since twilight had cut the princceses out of her life after celestia had the nerve to call her a failure for an alicorn. She only did what she thought was best and what was the thanks she got for it?..... REJECTION! Rejection from her own family after years of mentorship and love of a family. Her own aunt-in-laws rejected her and her own sister-in-law cadence betrayed her. Now twilight was all alone after flurry heart went a wall on her after she yelled at her niece and dince then flurry heart has never been seen or heard from again. G5 EQUESTRIA A.D. Twilight looks at the grave 🪦 stones of her friends as she sat there in a downpour of heavy rain her fur and hair were wet to the brim and she was so coldxand alone as thought of the good times in her youth she remembered everything from good times to bad times Oh how she wished she could make up to the princesses for the way she snapped at them for rejecting her but celestia made it very clear that her former pupil was barred from skyros never to show her face or send a letter and if she ever set hoof in skyros she be charged for trespassing and be put to death. Now twilight was an outcast and outsider with no friends and no family. A reject, a misfit who could never adapt to modern technology or learn modern society she just felt like she simply did not belong in the 21st century after all her old g4 friends had passed on. Spike has been for over a century with no chance of returning. So where did she belong in this life? Where? If only she knew. If only she could go back in time and fix her relationship with her family. If only she had a child of her own to love and tutor for princess ship but where? She eas all alone. TWILIGHT: oh girls i miss you much if only we could be together again that be enough for me. Celestis, luna, cadence? If you can hear me in skyros I'm so sorry for the way i acted and exploded at you i wish i could take it all back i miss you both. I feel so alone. What can i do now? I hope someday you'll find it in the goodness of your hearts to forgive me and contact me again. I miss you both. I'm sorry flurry heart i miss you the most and you to cadence please forgive me.
