GameSpot Universe what if norma supplies those restaurants with cheery pies or the recipes, she changes the recipe, Coop eats it and it's not nice and wakes him up. Laura is inside Audrey haha I said this theory on another channel and someone attacked me for, this show is sending people crazy haha. The whole season could be Audries coma and she's slowly coming around and that causes the glitches or she's in a coma and it glitches when something bad happens because she's watching it live like Bran Stark can. Here's a way out there theory, Twin peaks is the doorway for the mother of evil to come through, and the glitches are ripples in time caused by her entering our world. Evil Coop is keeping Bob inside him prisoner and building the box to imprison the mother of evil. Because he wants to be in charge of everything or he's good for another reason.

With all the talk of glitches and the timelines, maybe there is more significance to the T.V. boxing match loop Sarah Palmer is watching, maybe her freak-out at seeing the turkey jerky is because the new jerky arrives during a specific time during the Twin Peaks loop.

After watching this episode with Audrey, I personally believe Lynch is not just rearranging these timelines and sequences, but showing different dimensions. A sort of sub-conscience and conscience in Twin Peaks. I specifically think about how the people in the diner are changed just in a frame during that credit scene. Also one of the different frames including the "Missing Billy" storyline like in Audrey's scenes. I have a hunch that Audrey's scenes are not in base reality and the corresponding storyline during the diner scene makes me also believe that some scenes in Twin Peaks are not base reality.

Could be parallel realities - Bad Cooper came out in a parallel universe, that's why he's clueless about Twin Peaks. The timeline is out because he's in a different parallel universe. We'll know when Mr C gets to Twin Peaks - it might be a different Twin Peaks than the one we've been watching. Or we might have been watching two different Twin Peaks all along. Either that or it's all in Audrey's brain damaged head.

Here's the biggest reveal of the episode: James Hurley is a sadist who blames the death of Laura Palmer on the people of Twin Peaks. As part of his revenge, he writes one dreadful cheesy earworm of a song and every time there is an open mic night at the Roadhouse, he tortures the townspeople with his horrible horrible music. Once a month, everyone in town goes to bed screaming as they hum "Just you. And I. Just you. (just you) And I (and I)" over and over and over again. James sleeps soundly at night, knowing he has done his small part to avenge the death of his first true love.

One weird timeline thing you missed. We see Cooper two episodes ago hanging out with the Mitchum brothers, and then the beginning of this episode seems like the aftermath, the next morning. However in the last episode we saw Dougie was playing catch with Sonny Jim in his backyard. Janey-E even points out in this one that Dougie didn't come home last night. So clearly that catch scene was out of order. But was it intentionally out of order or not?

A few episodes ago: another sheriff informs Bobby that shots were fired at Big Ed's gas station, Bobby goes to investigate. Observation: From the second Mr C grips Renzo's hand to when he wins the arm wrestling match, the scene lasts 2 mins 52 secs. The entire scene where Sarah Palmer watches the boxing match lasts 2 mins 42 secs. Mr C keeps referring to returning to "starting position". Sarah Palmer's boxing match keeps looping back to its "start". Both scenes are almost the exact same length. Weird...

OMG you guys, it's so impressive that you've dug up this stuff about Swan Lake! I'm Russian, so I know it. Everything about the story with the doubles, and how the plot was changed due to pressure from the Soviet government in order to make this signature ballet more optimistic. But usually no one else knows these things, cause who cares about classical ballet? Except the Soviet government didn't "always" have Swan Lake on the loop whenever "something shifty" was going on. They had it on ONCE. When there was a coup in 1991, and the whole Soviet Union empire was about to collapse. While that was happening, the national television of the Soviet Union had Swan Lake being broadcast on the loop. :D

Audrey is definitely not in the real world. It's not even the modern era. Charlie has loads of paperwork and no computer on his desk. He calls Tina on a rotary phone. There's an old radio in the office. He does have a crystal ball though. I don't know where she is or how Charlie can just end her story but when he says it Audrey seems afraid and suddenly doesn't know where the Roadhouse is and who she is? I know people are upset at her character's story but I think of all the returning character story lines Audrey's is by far the most compelling.
@vincentbutler27577 жыл бұрын
Another timeline issue: the clip of Dougie Coop playing catch with Sonny Jim in e12 doesn't fit with the flow of Dougie's timeline from e11 to e13 because in 11 he's with the Mitchum bothers and in 13 the beginning conga line picks up the following day. Janey E mentions him being gone for the night. Clearly he did not stop home for a game of catch.

Could be reaching but... From Twin Peaks Wiki: "A pale horse was seen by Sarah Palmer on separate occasions right before she lost consciousness, due to being drugged by Leland when someone was going to be killed by BOB. It was usually accompanied by a bright flashing light." The delivery company delivering the white convertible and Sonny Jim's play set are called "Silver Mustang".. Could this reference a pale horse? Sonny Jim's play set sure has a lot of flashing lights. Another easter egg for what is to come for Dougie Jones' family?

I call this theory, "LAURA IS THE ONE" who kills Mr. C. After all, Twin Peaks was ALWAYS about Laura. I hope I just figured out "Laura is the one" and the inclusion of the wallpaper behind the woodsmen. Bear with me... I think the giant/????? sent Laura into the world (gold orb) as a part of a very extended plan to kill Bob. She was a way to draw him in. But, I think the night that Laura dies, when the Tremonds bring her into the painting, she enters the red room and her doppelgänger comes out. So the real Laura is still alive in the lodge (Laura saying, "I'm dead, yet I live" in the first hour). I think Mr. C will eventually be killed by the real Laura- not Dale. Twin Peaks was always about Laura. I think that's what Lynch was trying to get at in FWWM. I think it would ultimately very beautiful if Laura "WAS THE ONE" who could defeat Bob and the evil. I really hope I'm right with this one, after all, I feel like FWWM was almost a love letter to Laura. It would also explain the extreme slowness of the Cooper progression. The audience is once again enraptured with what Agent Cooper is doing, while not spending time thinking of Laura- which very much parallels the entire run of the original show (don't worry, I'm still in love with Dale just as much as everybody else's). Plus, Laura always had the answers- not Cooper. For instance, she told him who killed her. Cooper has always been instrumental, a piece of the "trap" for Bob, if you will. Now for the piece de resistance: "I'll see you again in 25 years" and "meanwhile." Originally, I never really asked myself why she would be seeing Cooper again in "25 years." Now, I think it's so simple and obvious. Laura has been waiting in the lodge for the time when she will defeat Bob. She knows the plan and how Cooper will end up being a part of it. She knows she will see him again in 25 years, when it will be time. She even winks knowingly at him. After all, The Return has already shown us how a doppelgänger is used as a trap to further one's mission (Duggie). Now que: "I'll see you again in 25 years," as Laura waits for the time to be right when she can come out and finish the job (probably with Dale's help). She just has to wait until then = "MEANWHILE"The last episode of The Return is called, "What is your Name?" If you recall, Cooper asks Laura, "who are you" in the Red Room. These two questions seem similar enough to lead me to believe the final title/ question is asked of Laura. Also, in the first episode of The Return, Laura tells Cooper "you can go out now." This definitely indicates she's aware of some master plan! There's a deep connection and camaraderie between these two that is especially apparent in this scene. I just think this reversal would be so tremendous and it would be a great achievement for a show, that so far, highlights and critiques traditional gender roles and domestic violence (if you apply feminist literary criticism and theory to the script). Laura is the one who kills Mr. C. Calling it now in hopes of future bragging rights.

I'm calling it now: Audrey is still in a coma. This explains Audrey's confusion as to the location of the Roadhouse. Charlie is actually death, or at least a representation of death. When he threatens to "end" her story, he means "kill" her. The contract they share is the promise he won't kill her. Billy was either an old fling or crush from high school. The paper work on Charlie's desk is actually all the people he has killed. Audrey's coma is represented by her favorite time period, i.e. the 50s, which would explain why everything looks old (rotary phones, the radio, the desk lamp, etc.).

You underestimate the original scene. If you remember, the very next scene after that was the scariest Bob scene in the show, with him climbing over the couch towards Maddie. I've always thought the whole point of that scene was to make you let your guard down because of how ridiculous it was, so you'd be even more shocked by what follows it. The song being called back to was hilarious though. That was for sure done for joking purposes, and I loved it. Half expected to see a big scary scene after it again though.

David Lynch wrote the lyrics, and they could actually be meaningful to the story. The song says basically "Just you and I, together forever." Reposting, but this has been bothering me: Is it possible that the black symbol on Evil Coop´s ace of spades card represents the frog/moth creature from ep. 8? I mean, it sort looks like it when it tucks its legs in and only the feet stick out, and it´s turned upside down (or "descending" as the woodsman says over the radio). If the frog/moth creature is an early version of Bob , it certainly would explain Hawk´s cryptical/creepy explanation when sheriff Truman ask about the black symbol. Also, at some point when Gordon Cole is sitting in front of a picture of an atomic bomb explosion he is whistling the Rammstein song "Engel" (eng. "Angel"). For me, this is a hint about the atomic bomb being the reason for the creation of angels maybe; one angel of darkness (Bob), and another angel of light (Laura). the frog/moth creature is such an "angel"; a winged creature made by a creator god. The two creator gods so far being the Evil Mother and the Good Giant. The woodsmen are servants helping Bob grow, gain power and bail him out whenever he gets into trouble.

the glitch at the end is not just a glitch: the reflection (doppelganger) is eating, while he is not/just watching. it's seems a foreshadowing of something sinister - a la Matrix deja vu do you guys want to do a glitch video? it seems all the glitches may be important for the plot - and my theory is that whenever there is a visual glitch it's a signifier (similarly to the electric noise, an audio glitch) of evil/sinister/black lodge stuff: - sarah palmer's TV - woman with no eyes, mom knocking - Tammy (maybe evil Doppelganger of Diane) near doorknob and... - ... and on glicthing FBI plane - reshuffle of extras in "anyone seen Billy" scene - woodsmen glitching around convenience store - etc.

I think the reason Good Dale can't shake being Dougie is he and Evil Cooper cannot exist on the same plane of existence. One has to be in the Black lodge. They both cannot be out. I believe Good Dale's consciousness/soul is trapped and won't be released until Evil Cooper is in the Black Lodge or dead. Coffee, cherry pie, Audrey, Sycamore trees or Twin Peaks are not going to bring back Good Dale until something is done about Evil Cooper. I also don't think we have seen the real Diane. She's mean, ornery and has white hair (like Bob and Leland). As if she is the double of a possible good Diane. And I hope Rammstein plays the Roadhouse.

The first part is obvious. I figured everyone knew that. Dale has to be Dougie unless Mr. C is gone. That's why they told Mr. C he had to come back. He refused, wanting more time on earth. Dale and his Doppleganger cannot both be on earth at the same time. I didn't think about a fake Diane, though! It's a good theory. I figured she had white hair because Mr. C raped her and she was "touched" literally by the evil in him.

Yeah, Diane's clearly bad news. I think she's hosting something. The way she parts curtains, the smoking (fire), the way her view is other, the way she lied about the woodsmen, the messages. She's compromised.

What did she say when Gordon and co. brought her back into the Blue Flower project? "Let's Rock!" The same thing that the Little Man in the Red Room says(backwards of course). So, yeah, one could ask why she said that...there is something unsettling about her. edit: Also, that scene's resemblance to the red room is uncanny, she is even wearing a red top in that scene like the little man and his red suit.

Maybe good and evil coops are the positive and negative in the same battery until some event disrupts the balance, or maybe when they come into contact with each other then the shit hits the fan and all bets are off. I think it was when the good Dougie entered this dimension the other two got sick at the same time (and nothing seems to bother evil coop) evil coop even wrecked the car he was driving so I think if good and evil coop run into each other they may even combine...either way something weird is going to happen if these two meet.

The theorizing is a great part of this whole experience. I love to discover all the little things I've missed that other people notice and share but I gotta say, it gets a bit rampant. If you just go by the information that is being presented a lot of these guesses will land nearer the mark in the end. For example, I don't get the idea that Audrey is in some version of the B Lodge or with a doctor? She was chained to a vault in an explosion, ICU and all that... her vague sensibilities are clearly a lingering result. It was stated she and Charlie are married, a contract of some sort, so the only real questions are what were the terms of the contract and who is Richard's father? Just roll with the info that is being presented in any TP scenario and it doesn't seem that murky.

I thought that at the end when the camera is pointed towards the gas pumps at Big Ed's gas station it looked a lot like the convenience store from episode 8 but looking in the other direction (inside looking out).

Andy the Shaman - when the posse goes to the White Lodge, notice how Andy does everything differently than the others. He avoids trees they touch, he goes left when they go right, he puts soil in his left pocket when they go in the right. Maybe everyone saw stuff and we only saw his vision because he was more clear/pure/receptive. Reminds me of the Indian Shaman character in FWWM that jumps backwards. He's contrarian. Much like the white contrasts with the black lodge (GIANT trees vs. small sycamores, gold vs. black fluid, black and white vs. color). The milling of the posse in 'reality' mirrors the milling around of the woodsmen outside the convenience store, as if they're being projected from another reality. The soil grounds them to the exit point.

The looping makes me think of a record player, stuck.. "Hello Johnny" and the boxing Could be a hint to the Giant playing the sound in loop to Cooper. Well, if it turns out to be the sound of a stuck record, that would link the theatre scene where his lady throws the orb up and we get a shot of the screen as if it was a record player. But its probably over-exaggeration Ed's glitch, reminds me of FWWM when Cooper looks into the monitor and he is still seen in it

What if Audrey Horne isn't the same character as in the old show and those scenes with her are actually a flashback in which Sherilyn Fenn plays her character's grandmother whose name is also Audrey Horne? Everything in her scenes - from the old telephone, the furniture, the cloths - matches the style from the 1940's. Which of course begs the question: Why would we need to know about Audrey's grandmother?

With The Fusco bros throwing away the file, I already didn't expect them to make any attempt towards "helping" Doggie. We know that Mr. C has his eyes on Coop in Las Vegas. And Mr. C has communication with Diane and (Albert and Gordon).

I don't know if this has been pointed out yet but the female friend of Gordon Cole did NOT glitch when she was in the door. Her purse rolled over her bangle causing her arm to jerk a bit when she reached for the door frame. Whether that was intended by Mr. Lynch or not I am not sure but it a cool effect.

I haven't seen anyone mention the object covered in white cloth in the plaza outside the insurance company. The red balloons on were mentioned in one breakdown episode, but not the thing itself. what is it? It's like something hidden in plain sight.

I wonder if there's a link between Evil Coop's "starting position" during the arm wrestling match, and the looping boxing match on TV at Sarah Palmer's house

How's this for an Easter Egg: The guy who is urinating in the bathroom when Tony is pouring the poisoned coffee in the trash looks a lot like Phillip Jeffries. He was credited as Malone in the credits. Notice, that he is wearing what looks to be the same suit that Phillip Jeffries wore in "Fire Walk With Me". Could this be David Bowie making a secret appearance with perhaps more to come? It could be something or could be nothing, but I thought it was interesting. I don't think it's a coincidence.

Just a bit curious why Andy never went back and checked why his suspect never turned up for his meeting about the truck that was used to kill the little boy. Apparently that person is Billy (the one who is missing that Audrey is wondering about) though I didn't catch that reference anywhere

The "Starting Position" is repeated with the glitching boxing match (and perhaps the Audrey scene). Perhaps it's to signify meddling in the space-time continuum, but I think this is more Lynch/Frost telling us that endings are just that...endings. We don't want the story to end and neither do they (the creators and the characters themselves). Like how Evil Coop toyed with the gang leader, that's been the meta experience we've been having throughout the show. They keep delaying our gratification by keeping us away from a direct path to the ending because we want to believe there is one. Our expectations keep resetting like he reset the match by design. Something of note is that the show is titled, "The Return." We aren't promised a return of Dale (as we know him). We're also not promised an ending. We're only promised a return. We don't know what return this is specifically, but we all assume it's the return of Dale. For all we know, it could be the return to normalcy or to the beginning...Whatever that is. One other thing that keeps standing out to me is how some of the characters almost seem to be aware that something is "off" or stumble right on the path they need to get to an ending and shut it out. Big Ed continues staring at his glitched reflection. Sarah Palmer keeps watching the TV broken in a loop (I think she sees the big picture that no one else can). Gordon Cole certainly knows something is amiss with the vision he had of Laura Palmer. The FBI agents laugh off the truth of Dougie being Dale. Bobby seeing the green toxic vomit child. I'm sure there are other times like this, but the fascination I have is with the inaction of everyone to the strange world they live in. Perhaps that's all too familiar with how we react and respond to the strangeness of our own reality.

End of episode 14. When the girl in the bar was recalling a story - she mentioned TWICE that she couldn't remember if her "uncle" was there...Reminded me of the emphasis on the "uncle" in Fire Walk with Me. "Lil" - who Cole states was his "mother's sister's girl." Missing in that sentence was the word "uncle". But really....who knows?!?

I feel like there's something to Big Ed's Gas Farm- it makes me think of the gas stations/convenience store(s) featuring the Woodsmen, and although you may want to think that Big Ed is just lonely and sad at the end, it seems plausible that ending on Big Ed had a greater significance- but with Lynch, you never know. So far, anything with 'farm' has been attached to evil. Meeting at the farm, etc etc etc.

Did anyone else notice the Rancho Rosa logo (at the beginning) is now green instead of red?
@tommycross92947 жыл бұрын
With only five episodes left, I think the point of this season is not about any final resolution involving the Black Lodge. I think the point of the whole thing is to restore Dale Cooper to himself and --- possibly --- deal with evil Cooper. And if Evil Cooper needed to get the coordinates from Ray, doesn't that prove that it's not he who's been communicating with Diane? Re Ed's final scene: Nice irony that he's eating alone after telling Bobby at the diner that no one should eat alone. But what was the slip of paper that he burned? Do we know yet? Did I miss something? If Dougie Jones is some kind of "construct" created by Evil Cooper, is he Sonny Jim's actual father? If so, would this make Sonny Jim less than fully human? And that's an odd name: Sonny Jim. Is he named after someone? Is there perhaps a Daddy Jim somewhere?
@naomisalama4303 жыл бұрын

Regarding Audrey coma vs non-coma: there is nothing "modern" about the scenes she is in. Plus, rotary phones were still common when Audrey's accident occurred, but you can't use one today - on digital lines, they wouldn't work without an adapter. So I think "coma". Charlie might be Black Lodge, living in her head, keeping her in the coma. Why not?
