Widely considered one of the most groundbreaking and influential broadcast series of all time, Twin Peaks followed the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town who were stunned after their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered. The town's sheriff welcomed the help of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper, who came to town to investigate the case. As Cooper conducted his search for Laura's killer, the town's secrets were gradually exposed. The mystery that ensued set off an eerie chain of events that plunged the inhabitants of Twin Peaks into a darker examination of their very existence. Twenty-five years later, the story continues...

No it's not about showing us footage, I just think it's not creative, it doesn't capture the magic and the wonder of the series, of the town, there's so much to be said about Twin Peaks and they made generic poster and cheap merchandising with generic Tshirts and mugs. I don't know, imagine you could actually get the cups that the officers of Twin Peaks used on the first season, or they could send voice recording machines to some lucky fans with details of the new season, man everything would be better than what they actually done.

i agree that there are a lot of really cool opportunities for clever promotion that they missed. itd be awesome to see something like an actual RR diner, TP-branded coffee and donuts, or even some event were they recreate the black lodge set in some big city and have the actors sit inside and speak about the show backwards. in terms of clever merchandise that id actually buy theres jacoby's 3d glasses, roadhouse beer glasses or big eds gas farm trucker hats (which i think ive actually seen somewhere!).

That's because Lynch has given clear instructions to Showtime. He only said yes to panels and stuff like that. He told them to promote Season 3 as least as possible. Having said that, they've still done some cool stuff, like the international posters of Laura Palmer with a working phone number that people could call and receive a mysterious message.
