the best part is that is purely out of principle since dougie just brought home over 420,000 dollars and they can easily afford the 50,000

Him "wanting" over "needing" reminds me back to the original run where cooper says basically the opposite when he's in Audrey's room.

It’s hard to watch this, knowing what later happened to Robert. Godspeed, Robert Forster. You were very beloved by your fans, all over the world.

Mr. C isn't too careful with his words is he? 0:06, "I'll need to be on my own", TP season 2 finale: "I need to brush my teeth."

If you want something, the want has dependencies on needs. Though I doubt that I’d have said that to him.

Miguel Ferrer must have already been ill when he filmed this, as it was filmed in 2016, and he died at the beginning of 2017.

This was Miguel Ferrer's last role. He can't have been sick for long, considering he shot this in 2015 and died at the beginning of 2017. The show aired later that year. The Return was made just in time for a number of the original cast, who have since died. The Log Lady died four days after her last scenes were filmed. It's not morbid, I'm just happy that all these people got to be in the revival. And it had been 27 years since the last time Twin Peaks was onscreen.

As much as the end of S3 is a downer. I'm glad Janey-E and Sonny Jim got the husband/dad they deserved in the end. Cooper's plan to save Laura and find Judy may have been a failure, but he succeeded here.

the fact that she won nothing for this performance tells you all you need to know about the legitimacy of the prestige awards. literally one of the greatest performances by anyone in the history of film.

I finished The Return again recently and there's nothing like it on modern TV. I can't watch anything else. Everything else pales in comparison.

More than just an especially stellar performance in TW THE RETURN, this particular clip is one of my all-time top 10 David Lynch favorite moments, but uniquely so. Other favorites of Lynchian genius tend to be if not surreal then studied subversion of normalcy. Janey-E Jones in this clip punches through the screen with conspicuous absence of stylized camerawork or sound design-- It's perversely, jarringly, powerfully thisworldly (as opposed to otherworldly blue rose stuff but also the otherwise pervasive implicit gritty hint of all-American weirdness in even minor characters, extras. Once or twice a year I return to this particular clip as improbably but effectively inspirational / instructive -- it resonates with me as a not-that-over-the-top parallel to how I have learned to deal with bullies.
