Special Agent Dale Cooper graced us with quite a few words of wisdom on the show Twin Peaks. These are the best.

@@Animeality I have heard The Return called Anti-Nostalgia. Lynch is not very into the idea of paying fan-service as a given. But that being said, there were so many amazing moments to be had in the Return that were themselves of the heart of the original run, but just not from the characters we may have wanted it from.
@Snowman01474 жыл бұрын
@@michaelfathoms6152 basically Lynch wanted to tell the audience that it is far too late to go back. The story ended at session two when the mystery was solved. Lynch only wanted to have one mystery and continue on with the show forever.

Dale Cooper is a personification of David Lynch's thought stream. Of course, he'd be one of the best characters to ever grace the screen.

One could argue that Dale Cooper is merely a fictional character. However, I say with great pride that I have learnt so much from this character and have gained so much from attempting to act like him in real life. I have experienced some of the worst inflictions a privileged person can endure in my recent youth. Yet, I have excelled in surviving it all thanks to this here man. Despite only being of eighteen-years-old, I feel as if I have the maturity and wisdom of the "happy generation['s]" most singular product of human nature. Thank you Twin Peaks.

You shouldn't think of yourself as "privileged." That's looking down on people who were born a certain way. I don't think coop would approve ;)

If I ever become a boss at work, I want to be like Cooper: focused, good at his job, but also with that typical weird Twin Peaks positive quirkiness :) Like his coffee scenes and blueberry pie, or the sandwiches from Mr Horne's brother. I love those little details.

I think that's why he couldn't win in the Black Lodge. He couldn't except the evil of the doppleganger (kind of like finding the selfish/evil self in Persona 4,, lol) he couldn't admit it as part of himself and it defeated him instantly

0:27 ones of my favorites scenes. It's a perfect demonstration of what I love about Lynch; you have Albert and Cooper talking in front; which is enough; both characters are unique and interesting enough in their own right, but then you always have the singing men in the background which puts another level of entertainment in the scene.

Upon finishing season 2, I can't help but feel rather emotional while revisiting the heartfelt moments in previous episodes. This has brought me to reminisce the subtle yet complicated strings of emotions tied among the people of Twin Peaks. I know there are still a film and a season to go by, yet I can't help but sense that the warmth between these same people will not entirely return. Surely I expect to experience more of the magic and niche-ness, but I don't suppose such warmth can be recreated - not without these familiar characters who are dear to our hearts. I wish we had more time with them, if only things had worked out better. But I suppose I should get going, see what is to come in Twin Peaks and appreciate the wisdom I have gained from it. I shall apply them in my own life for as long as I find it appropriate. As a wise man once said, "There's a whole world out there, jump in."

Tell that to the lizardmen from Harry Turtledove's WorldWar novels. Seriously, members of "the Race" react to ginger as humans do to cocaine, in addition to it sending Race females into estrus. So basically, selling a gingerbread man to a member of the Race is like selling a cocaine cookie to a human. Though a cocaine cookie wouldn't taste anywhere near as good as a gingerbread man, since according to collective knowledge, cocaine has a bitter and "chemically" taste to it.

If something aired three decades ago, should you really have to warn about spoilers up front? A spoiler is when something just became public and people share crucial information, unsolicited. Twin Peaks has been available for anyone to catch up with for thirty years now. Coop would see this logic. Thanks for the good compilation.
