Very nice video. Short and to the point. May I ask why you didn't use nylon washers on the three inch rod to prevent it from rattling? Right now it is exposed and accesible.

Hey Jason, great video, once again. Really enjoying watching your build! What was the reason for the “upgraded” shift rails and what is upgraded about them? I put in the JB twin sticks recently and am having an issue where the xfer case slips out of gear. Just getting to looking at possible reasons so when you mentioned the shift rails, I thought I’d ask. Thanks! Tim (to be clear, the slipping issue existed before the twin sticks. I hoped the swap alone might fix it but no such luck!)

Tim, thanks for watching the channel. The JB shift rails allow you to adjust the firmness of the shifts and it helps hold the transfer case in gear. He has a real good write up about them on his web site. The biggest issue is you will have to tear down the transfer case to install the rails. Good Luck!

what paint did you use on the t-case an trans I'm looking to paint mine on my 66 also

The color is cast coat gray. I think it is either VHT and Duplicolor engine/high heat paint. It holds up well as long as the surface is clean when you apply it.

I have a 1976 (J Shifter). Can these be installed without removing the transfer case?

How much more work do you have to do before you set the body on the chassis?

Terry, I have to install the fuel lines and gas tank and finish just a few loose ends up front. So hopefully by the first of next month we will sit the body back on it temporarily so I can take care of a couple final fitting things necessary before final body work. It is getting close. I can't wait to see it with the body on it even if it is temporary.

Any reason why you didn't just cut the bolts down an 1/8" or so instead of adding the lock washers?

Greg, I was just using what was supplied at the time. That would definitely be another way to handle it. I just chose the easy route I guess.
