That was said in 2011 itself. In between the government forgot everything after 2014. Their focus shifted elsewhere. The city needs to make a good budget hotel to attract more tourists. Every city has multiple. We just cater to a few hundred.

@@AjaySingh-cz3kx true and the problem is also industrial sector is lacking... state govt lacked in vision initially and eventually with India's growth they now are following which none the less is a good thing... but the inequality between Kolkata and rest of Wb needs to addressed as Kolkata has a GDP of $110 billion ans WB itself has a GDP of 150 billion(21st in per capita income in India) that makes rural Bengal one of the poorest regions in the world equal to LDCs. we need to industrialise and modernise our agriculture sector.

Projects like 'Srijan intellia' is a wastage of rare and costly central Kolkata land.Viewing the land shortage at metropolitan area, this should have been made as skyscraper(at least 40 storied) like Mumbai, Hyderabad and Noida.Kolkata's skyline lags behind due to unwillingness of city promoters.

Rohit da, can you please tell me why does AAI treat Kolkata in such a discriminatory manner? AAI's Regulation for building height is applicable for all the places adjacent to the airports of the country. Then why Mumbai doesn't face this problem? Why one after another taller skyscraper is being built in Mumbai without any major opposition from AAI? I've checked the distances of the structurs from Mumbai airport is more or less same as that of Kolkata. Even the AAI's colour codes for building height is more or less same for Mumbai. But when it comes to Kolkata AAI always makes a barrier! What about all ther cities in the world! They have airports and also building tall structures! Even The 42 project also had to go through a law suit to be as tall as 269 metres. I can't find any answer. What is the solution? Please tell me.

Why should news channels show fantasy graphics when they don’t even have enough airtime for mesmerizing actual developments in other parts of the country. Let us not even talk about Delhi, Mumbai. Just talk about the transformation of Srinagar, the land of the erstwhile stone pelters. Some parts of city looks like Europe, people are getting optimistic and disciplined, stone pelters seem to have left and migrated to Howrah. And economy of J&K is the fastest growing in India with GDP growth rate of 12%. And what about Bengal, it is part of the five states (Bihar, Bengal, Kerala, Punjab and Rajasthan) which are very big drags on India. Do not shoot the messenger and blame the news channels. They are constantly reminding you to introspection. Your collective actions will decide whether West Bengal becomes Wasteland Bengal or Prosperous Bengal.
