the headers and exhaust will radiate heat in all directions, probably best to contain all the heat, ceramic coating, better for the turbos and unless kyle is forcing air through the intercooler from below that radiated heat will cause performance loss. cooler the air from the turbos and keeping the air cool from the intercooler will have discernible benefits in performance.

Definitely needs the twin 12" fans but on a custom shroud that would also double as a heat sheild, incorporate some long 5-10mm slits to deal with the air flow from the scoop he plans to put underneath, I think this is essential to this car making power... Very quickly boost/timing limited without cold air, and with low air flow in a high heat area an air to air intercooler turns into a heat sink pretty quickly

Kyle you should get a rear strut tower brace for the mr2 to add some more strength since you had to cut the wall up
@Nebbia_affaraccimiei5 жыл бұрын
he has the cage welded to the struts.. that thing ain't gonna flex

some of those fittings the angles where they seal are sometimes diffrent and causes problem just gotta tighten them loosing them and retighten them a few time to make a seal

Dang I guess we didn't learn much from cleetus about welding wastegates at 90 degree angles.
@mdnovaman5 жыл бұрын
Nathanael Naused Cletus only ran one gate. This has two. For a small engine too. It’s very common to weld them in this orientation and rarely is it an issue unless the gate is far too small.

@@mdnovaman Not my car, we'll see how it works but I respectfully disagree with that reasoning. Maybe just because I have a different mindset when it comes to the way I build things.

Might have to direct the waste gate vents away from the intercooler ducting that you are going to fab up, keep those temps nice and cool. Thing has come out great, ready to put in some work!

Kyle may need to do a few more small mods to reduce intake temps but it's possible. There's a single turbo K swappped mr2 in Australia that makes 900hp and runs high 8's on an unprepped airstrip so I can't wait to see what Kyles can run once he gets everything ironed out and running right.

Damn Kyle the MR2 is coming along so rad. It's so funny how every car guy goes right to the exhaust and puts their hand to feel the breath. Like a child birth for car dudes.
