Interesting, back in the 90´s when we set up our Christmas tree, we would simply wrap a couple strands of multicolor lights and there were only two options, if you wanted the strand of lights to stay lit, you would set it up as it is, but if you wanted it to blink, you would replace one of the bulbs with an included clear bulb with a red tip. That I knew from as far back as 1990.

Where was this 23 years ago when I bought my first house. I did buy a 7-foot pre-lit (in all white lights) tree. I used it for a couple of years. And when I moved last year, I was not able to take it with me. Now in a new home, I will think about it for next year (as you can expect, moving these days isn't cheap). I do like the app control feature.

Question: If it’s pre-lit, why do you need to map the lights? Surely the lights are in standard positions so the app should already know where they are?

There isn't a one way to put this together. Te pieces fit together, but do not snap in place. Each time you could set it up different than the last. Also, some may move the branches up or down which would change the lightening. I hope this helps. Thanks for stopping by and commenting 🙂 🎄

Thanks that’s a big help! One more question if you don’t mind - can you see any wires from the lights, or are they built into the branches? I’ve been trying to find a close-up video of the branches but can’t find one anywhere!

If you’re willing to spend a pretty penny for a more realistic tree, Twinkly has collaborated with Balsam Hill. I LOVE my Balsam Hill Twinkly tree! I don’t even need any ornaments on it to be happy just playing with the lights. Twinkly comes out with more patterns every year but I custom make my lights to match the ornaments I have on the tree that year.

I remember growing up in the 60's we had an aluminum tree. We had a color wheel that would make the tree change color as it would turn. Now that was high-tech back then. As far as blue tooth we had a horse that had a kind of blue green tooth 🙂

This tree is really gorgeous and so easy to assemble.I have a 3 piecer ( not pre lit or as costly ,it was 40 bucks from W Mart). It also isnt 7 ft but great review and so many ways to light it !.
