just a little fun fact: this song was inspired by obamas speech at the correspondents dinner, if you want more songs like this I recommend the cypher series, ddaeng, baepsae, and ugh. For songs of a different vibe i'd recommend black swan, blood sweat & tears, magic shop (there's no mv so you would have to watch a live performance), and stay gold. They're also releasing an ENGLISH single called dynamite the 21st so keep your eyes our for that too.

Some info on BTS if you're interested. BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) stands for bulletproof boy scouts in korean and is made up of 7 members (3 rappers and 4 vocalists) and they debuted in 2013. Their names are Jin age 27 vocalist, Suga age 27 rapper, J-Hope age 26 rapper, RM age 25 rapper, Jimin age 24 vocalist, V age 24 vocalist, and Jungkook age 22 vocalist. Although they are considered k-pop (korean pop) their music has all genres hip hop, rnb, edm, and pop. They have over 200 songs and do solo songs, solo mixtapes, and subunit songs. Unlike other groups from the past they all have their chance to shine and are all vital to the success of the group. They practiced for 12-16 hours a day for years before they started having success in south korea. To date they are highest selling kpop artists in south korea with over 21 million albums sold in south korea alone. In addition they have had 4 number 1 albums on the billboard 200 charts in the United States 3 of which happened in less than a year. Their story is so inspirational and I just love their music and the kind of people they are. A lot of western media don't report on them or don't take them seriously because people consider them a "boy band" even though they are very involved in the creative process and help write and produce their music. They also don't get radio play because their songs are not in english. They've had to overcome a lot to get where they are and it's amazing how a lot of people still don't know who they are or have never heard of them even though they break records constantly. Their live performances are incredible and their songs speak on issues such as mental health, self love, and societal expectations. Also their fanbase known as ARMY are very diverse with people of all ages, nationaliites, races, and genders. I would recommend if you're going to keep reacting to them to get them a little more personally. 2 videos I recommend are who is BTS the 7 members of Bangtan by sugar and spice. It's a little outdated but a decent introductory to each member. And BTS Nobodies to Legends 2019 by xceleste. This video is a short overview of some of their hardships and achievements over the years. Thanks for reacting and BTS are releasing a new song and music video called Dynamite on August 21st and it apparently is going to be all in english. I hope you check it out.

BTS originally released Mic Drop in Korean. RM, the group's leader who sang the 'haters gonna hate' part, got the idea of writing this song from watching Barack Obama's mic drop speech. 😂 This one is another version that Steve Aoki worked on. This song sealed the deal for me to be an ARMY. I wonder if you have the subtitles on while watching this. 🤔 Because this is a diss track. BTS is the only artist that can sing this and make us proud because of their history from nobody to kings. This is in line with Ddaeng and their Cypher series. Again, thank you for the feedback. I 'discovered' them six months ago. These guys are so talented, it's not fair. They have music ranging from hard rap ("Ugh!"); R&B ("Singularity"); pop ("Boy With Luv"); ballads ("Truth Untold") - they really aren't K-pop, they're more their own thing. You may want to watch their KZbin dance practice videos too, to really see how they're not just vocal talents but also absolutely kill with moves. Mic Drop has a dance practice video, though the song version used in it is the original version, not Aioki's remix. That would also allow you to compare the two versions. The remix has way more English because it was made to help build up their Western audience (which in a way sucks because although I want everyone to love BTS, now I have more competition for concert tickets LOL).

This 57 year old woman well 56 at the time, traveled from Atlanta to Chicago last year to see them live. It was awesome. They were the first Korean artist to play Wembley, sold out, 2 nights. I don't think there's a single song of theirs that they haven't either composed written or produced or had some hand in. They are not K-pop in my opinion. I just wish they'd get more radio play in the US I'm not a big fan of our music anymore.

There music is extremely diverse - everything from straight hip hop, to R&B, to ballads. There is no categorising them. You should react to the Cypher series if you want some hip hop, House of Cards is very R&B vibe and maybe something like truth untold for a ripper ballad. BTS stands for Bagtansonyeondan - Korean translation is Bulletproof Boy Scouts, English is now beyond the scene. They have been around since 2013. The original Korean version of this song is basically the same - Steve just dropped a bit of a beat and the guys added some of the lyrics in English.

Carly lily ......So BBang doing a world tour of north and South America and Europe in 2012 with were 800 thousand total ghosts attending those concerts.......but BTS was paving the way though.....lol but can’t be because they didn’t debut till 2013. Do some research ......like two consecutive night concerts( 24 thousand attended ) at Honda Center, Anaheim, California........then another two nights ( 24k attendance) a week later in Prudential Center , Newark , New Jersey......again where was BTS , learning how to synchronize I suppose. @@bblack6868 So are you saying that their most successful tour in North America was in 2012? with 4 shows in arenas? but wait, they went to the military service in 2017, so if they haven't gone they would be more successful than BTS RIGHT NOW for sure... one thing is to try to break into a market, and not achieve it (big bang case) and another very different is to break into that market, break all the stereotypes when it comes to kpop, and ensure that many other groups also have the opportunity to promote there as well (BTS case). The fact that their most successful North American tour was five years prior to enlisting should be proof enough for you that they tried but failed.

Not to be confused. They are heavily involved in their songs. Check the song credits. I believe they mean that this new album is all them, no in house producers. Update: no in house producers, art managers, dance managers etc. Basically they are directing everything and managing everything themselves. I guess the only thing they are using at BigHit are the studio rooms. All the members have gone live on YT to talk about their process. I expect them to use the staff, but they are completely in charge in this project.

Hi, some things about this boys. *Bts Is south Korean group, this days people prefer don't mix them with kpop. Kpop is just a label to say that everything that comes out of Korea is that (false) bts is not considered kpop because of its great repertoire of genres and that it does not follow the same line of the kpop industry. 1. They are 7, 4 vocalist, 3 rappers (2 underground rappers) all dancers 2. Bts compose and produce their own music, so is very personal, they talk about mental health, politics, society, their fans, self love, etc 3. They have a story behind their videos so is difficult to new people understand, we (the armys) used to read a several books and study set, philosophy, psychology and mythology to understand. Their last album for example was "map of the soul: 7" and is inspired by the psychologist book the map of the soul by Murray. 4. The army love them because they are good people who through a lot of bad things to be where they are now, and even being famous they stay humble. 5. They have a lot of genres but their base is very hiphop / rap. Also you can find subtitles in every possible language thanks to the fans, u only need to search with the name of the song. **Bts always present themselves as a Korean group, and always said they don't want to be labeled in a genre or industry. The fans also do not want to be mixed with kpopers, (most of us aren't kpop fans) we don't have the same ideals

I like the BTS style and 'flow' for the most part, but the vocals didn't quite do it for me - I'd still watch them, though, as they are freaking good dancers - and there are many K-Pop groups you can say that about! They, BTS, could certainly have something that nails the sound for me, but I just haven't come across it yet. Same with every other genre - there are going to be performers you really like in each, and some that don't have that appeal for you - yet for other people it may be their favourite. It's all 👍 - except for mumble rappers and other 'popular' crap that couldn't hold a tune with both hands.

Like others have said here, BTS started out as more hip hop. Then they slowly experiment and try out different things as the years go by (along with hip hop), which makes them a versatile group. Also, if you click CC on their music videos, you can see their lyrics. Their lyrics are not to miss as they write their own lyrics as well. Lol If you want to know more about BTS, I suggest watching "Who is BTS: The Seven members of Bangtan." But it's up to you guys. Anyway, love the video! Keep it up.

The original Mic Drop was a lot grungier and old-school hip hop. I personally liked it just as much, if not more. And BTS isn't just "kpop" They do some pop, but the majority of their discography is more hip hop influenced. You'll likely enjoy Daechwita, Agust D, Moonchild, Do You, and Daydream and Airplane. As well as some other songs that don't have music videos, UGH!, Ddaeng, Outro: Tear and Outro: Her, Black Swan and ON: Kinetic Manifesto Film. TIP: please remember to turn on English Closed Captions for BTS music videos. What really sets BTS apart though is that since even BEFORE they debuted, they have been writing and producing their own music. BTS is nothing like your regular 'boyband' there's so many different genres and styles of songs that you'll never know what to except. And they're very VERY different from Blackpink because Blackpink's style is very predictable nothing new anymore. When Blackpink has a comeback you know basically what it's gonna sound like(not hating on the girls here because it's actually the Company's fault in the first place). With BTS you absolutely can't guess how it's going to be like. They always switch it up a bit so it wouldn't get boring. The funny thing is YG has had two hugely popular groups that got there by different paths. 1. Big Bang which suffered early because the boys wanted to create their own material and ultimately rose to the top of 2nd generation K Pop largely based on their creativity 2. Black Pink which was gold spooned from the get, to date members not creating any of Black Pink's material and succeeding as high profile show performers doing a directed series of "presentations" for YG which could sell largely to Western markets unfamiliar with the large base of talented female groups Korean's tend to respect more. Not saying there is not some good stuff. There is. But the similar sound is unquestionably corporate Pablum. Corporations tend not to alter what is working.
