Twins Prospect List | August 2024 Update

It's the first Monday of the month, that means it's time to update my Minnesota Twins top-50 prospects list. Let me know what you think. The big update this month was adding Kaelen Culpepper and all the other new 2024 draftees. In addition to that, Eduardo Beltre got a big jump and both Christian MacLeod and Carson McCusker entered the list.

I really like the way things are shaping up, especially considering there are a good number of young guys graduated and on the big club. Org is in good shape to compete for a number of years to come.

I am really sad that Kala'i had his season cut short due to injury. He was just starting to get his power mojo back. he has cut his K percentage as well. I hope this doesn't affect him long term. I think he has massive power upside and will be really fun to watch over the next decade. Hopefully.

Yeah, it would have been nice to see how the rest of his season progressed. He’ll need to be added to the 40-man roster to be protected from the Rule 5 Draft this offseason.

I really like Winokur. 25-25 upside with defensive versatility. 23 has the chance to go down as one our best Drafts. Jenkins, Soto, Keaschall, and Winokur were a great first four picks

I’m really into him, too. Even though I don’t think he’ll stick at SS, he’s looked much better there than I’d imagined. His approach has improved as the season progressed. Performance has been a bit up and down, but it’s great he’s getting so much work in against older/more advanced pitching than he’d ever faced previously.

I swear that Carson McCusker has started in every Twins spring training game I’ve ever been to. But I probably think that’s because he is so hard to miss.

I honestly feel like Culpepper is going to become an extremely similar profile to Keaschall, maybe with a bit less power and better defense

I could see that, it feels like the Twins believe they can take KC to a level above where the general consensus has him, much like they have with Keaschall.

Seeing the age of Feista and Mathew’s makes what SWR at 23 that much more impressive. With Canterino being 26 and the injury’s is he gonna turn into a bullpen guy ?

He’s among the guys who dropped out of the top 50 this month, so he’s somewhere in the next 10.

Agree with moving down Raya still treated with kid gloves at some point gotta let him pitch starting to look like a future reliever when he eventually debuts

His performance has also been disappointing. Walking too many guys. He’s still young g for the level, but turns 22 tomorrow, so that’s only going to be a talking point for so much longer.

Canterino isnt a prospect anymore To me. Hes basically Stephon Gonsalvez and Jordan Balazovic. A guy that showed high potential early on, but has withered away into mediocrity.

Since 2010: Alex Wimmers Levi Michael Travis Harrison Hudson Boyd Byron Buxton Jose Berrios Luke Bard Kohl Stewart Nick Gordon Tyler Jay Alex Kiriloff Royce Lewis Brent Rooker Trevor Larnach Aaron Sobato Keoni Covaco Chase Petty Noah Miller Not counting the last 4 first round picks, How many of those have actually done much of ANYTHING with the Twins? Buxton, Berrios and Royce are hits. The rest are okay role players at best, below average or complete busts. I think theyve earned the reputation for bad first round picks dude.

Way better hit tool and fielding. Maybe a lower ceiling than Keoni had but much higher floor imo
