BTO was HUGE in the 70's, they had several big hits and practically ever place you went where there was dancing the cover bands would be playing BTO songs and their songs got A LOT of air time on the radio.

BTO's "Takin' Care of Business'" and "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" are probably their 2 biggest hits and "Roll on Down the Highway" embodies the groups ethos. Randy Bachman's son Tal Bachman had a hit w/ "She's So High"

Randy Bachman was one of the founding members of The Guess Who but left not long after the release of "American Woman". He eventually founded Bachman-Turner Overdrive in 1973 with two of his brothers, Tim and Robbie, and Fred Turner.

BTO or Bachman Turner Overdrive are from my hometown of Winnipeg, Canada. Randy Bachman was in the Guess Who another Winnipeg band. Randy Bachman is one badass guitarist. Other Songs Taking Care of Business Blue Collar Ain't seen Nothing yet One amazing performance to check is The Guess Who reunion tour concert live in Winnipeg where they do a 14 minute version of American Woman 🤯🤯

NOW you've picked a jammin' band! BTO was also Canadian, like Rush. Their songs are basically open-road, truck-drivin' jams. Listen to the studio version of "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet". In that song the lead singer and guitarist (and the song's writer), Randy Bachman, added a stutter, which was a good-natured joke at the expense of his brother Gary, who actually did have a stutter. Not sure Gary appreciated the joke. Lol This band is a wild ride of blues and energetic guitar-driven rock that very much is great for driving long stretches of highway.

The band confronted a truck driver at a truck stop to which the truck driver said "Let it ride". Probably their most popular song is "Takin Care of Business". Randy Bachman also played in the Guess Who. The Guess Who's most popular song is "American Woman". Check a live concert: "The Guess Who - American Woman & No Time" at the Sars Concert. Great review.

"You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" is a song by Canadian rock band Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO). The song was written by Randy Bachman for the band's third studio album Not Fragile (1974). It was released as a single and reached the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and the Canadian RPM chart the week of November 9, 1974.

I love BTO their one of my favorite bands, and an interesting fact about this band is that three of the band members are brothers Randy Bachman (lead guitar, lead vocals), Tim Bachman (guitar, vocals), Fred Turner (lead guitar, lead vocals), and Robbie Bachman (drums). The Bachman's were in another highly popular band called "The Guess Who" another beautiful harmony band. Here's a suggestion for a song by "Guess Who - American Woman" and the lead singer of the Guess Who is Burton Cummings, along with the Bachman's and Fred Turner, all are legendary artists, and they all had an incredible careers and they gave us a lot of gorgeous music to listen to as well. 🎶

Hey you're even using the 70's expression "diggin' it! I like the whole thing, but musical tastes differ. That was my generation's music and I appreciate you guys exploring it. A number of the 70s bands like Kansas were what's known as Progressive rock, which is characterized by the change-ups in melody lines and rhythms, rather than the usual standard one melody line and drum beat through the whole song. Don't know what you guys would think of Roundabout by Yes. Superb musicianship, but Prog rock on steroids! Other Prog rock bands were Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake and Palmer, and Moody Blues.

Hey guys this song and so many BTO songs are great to listen to. I bought there first Greatest Hits back in the 70’s and it was a great collection of their songs. My favorite is You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet and Roll Down The Highway. Hey You and Let It Ride are great too. In my home town up in Maine their favorite BTO song was Taking Care Of Business. I would love it too yet the song was way too overplayed. Randy, the rhythm guitar player did play for the Guess Who as well. You have to listen to those songs too. The Guess Who songs were more stylistic than BTO. BTO did focus more on energy output in the songs rather than lyrically. Both bands from Canada broke up way too soon.
