there is something addictive about Fred Turners voice.

Back in the 1970’s, Bachman Turner Overdrive was a staple of radio AirPlay. This song, and “You ain’t seen nothing yet” are two of my favorites. Both songs have unusual back stories too.

BTO struck gold with Not Fragile....my pick of all the great songs on that album would be ''Rock is my life, this is my song''

The band Bachman Turner Overdrive (BTO) is from Winnipeg, in central Canada. The lead guitarist is Randy Bachman a devote Mormon. Randy was an important member of the band The Guess Who. Randy along with lead singer Burton Cummings put out many memorable hits, These Eyes, No Time, American Women, No Sugar Tonight.... to name a few. Of late Randy’s son, Tal Bachman had a big pop hit, “She’s So High Above Me”.

My father produced Randy Bachman early in his career. He had an independent record label (Nico Records) around 1970 and always had a great eye for talent. He really liked Randy. I think Randy was between bands at the time. God bless everyone. MA

Awesome catchy hit guitar driven rock song is a classic 🎸 The song was inspired by the band's confrontation with truck drivers when caught up in a traffic jam on a highway into New Orleans. The truck drivers response was for them to take it easy and let it ride 🚚🚌🚛 Great pick Enoma 🎐

@@Vince-lq3ve I usually visit Winnipeg in late June; after the mosquitoes, but before the heat waves. I've been in Calgary since 1977, absolutely love the weather here.

You need to listen to Roll On Down The Highway by Bachman Turner Overdrive...BTO...

BTo is a Canadian rock band made up of Randy Bachman (also of "Guess Who" fame check them out too) and Fred Turner. They were huge in Canada, but had great success in the US due to the familiarity with Bachman and the Guess who. You want some more good quality Canadian rockers check out "Triumph" Never Surrender, unusually positive lyrically

Robbie Bachman said that if it weren't for Fred Turners voice, they would never have made it so far.

I've always thought of BTO as "Trucker Rock"
@tomgeorge72814 жыл бұрын
That’s where this song came from. Randy tells the story on Every Song Tells a Story. As they were driving through the US for a concert, some truckers surrounded their van. Later at a truck stop, they confronted one of the truckers. He finally told them, “It’s no big deal. Just let it ride.” I wonder if that trucker ever heard the song years later. 8-)

This is a really easy song to listen to. I love listening to guys like Randy Bachman and Terry Kath of Chicago. Seinfeld is awesome as well. Great art can have one meaning or interpretation and still have many applications just as meaningful.
