Hey Blooms!!! Just want to make a comment here on why we were laughing when Aiah was getting ready to perform. We had NO idea she was suffering from anxiety up until right before the show. We thought she was just nervous, we apologized as soon as we were aware. We can see how this could be misinterpreted by people who don’t or haven’t seen the full clip in context. We deeply apologize to any Blooms who were upset. We LOVE these girls and would never laugh at anyone suffering from anxiety or any other mental heath illness.

The thing with Gwen was that she likely did not want to quit. Remember earlier in the documentary, she quit and then she said that when she realized what she did after she got home that she made a promise that if she returns that she will never, ever, ever quit again. So yeah, even if management ordered her not to get back on stage, Gwen will likely not follow that order.

it’s the 3rd time i’ve seen this documentary and i still cried when sheena mentioned her mom and when aiah had anxiety attacks… i’m the same age as jho and sheena, and i have severe anxiety so watching aiah experience that was really hard for me.. i’m very happy she’s better now and i hope she continues to feel better because anxiety is not fun at all and it actually ruins one’s life

ppop is fairly new, VERY new so even with the big-gun companies backing some groups. it's super hard to get traction. it's like debuting a group from an unknown company to kpop. there will be people who would know about the project just because abscbn is big but it's not a guarantee of instant fans. it's hard for ppop idols rn, even with at least three groups making noise. filipinos rn lean more towards actors and actresses, singers, artists. the gp used to frown on idols actually, they don't see them as talented. but slowly groups like bini, sb19, alamat are proving those misconceptions wrong. there's a lot of work to do. this is why the number 1 motto or saying in ppop for a long time was "ppop rise". it's a promise and goal of sorts on trying to achieve the rise of ppop.

51:24 There was a lot of issue during the previous admin, specially on the former president. During his term, there are a lot of issues like extrajudicial killings (bcs of war on drugs), train law, red taggings on citizens, how he behave, the handling of pandemic situation, etc. The news broadcasting show of ABS-CBN still broadcast these issues knowing it can put them on the bad side of the government. The network has also been seized before along with other stations during 1970s (bcs of Martial Law).

58:02 and looking back, knowing that Sheena and Gwen went straight to the bootcamp after PBB and had to stay away from the family onwards, Sheena's last moments with her mom is recorded when she's still inside the Pinoy Big Brother house which makes it sadder, not to mention if you're like me who watched that exact episode where the housemates had to win a task just so Sheena could see her mom and dad for a quick 10 minutes

I've watched this multiple times already but the segments of Sheena, Aiah and Gwen still makes me tear up every single time. This was such a well made documentary that further gave us a glimpse of the hardship and the success of the 8 girls. After watching it I love Bini evennn more and I want to see them succeed even more.

5:05 Mikha once said that at first she thought the name BINI was cringe but later on she realized that it was an apt name for the group On ABS-CBN, it's an entertainment company that has many subsidiaries like StarMagic (agency/talent development), StarMusic (record label), StarCinema (movie production), Dreamscape (show production), iWantTFC (streaming platform), etc. It's not like the agencies in KPop. So it was a big blow for the company to lose the ability to promote and air their shows on free-to-air TV. And since it's only recently that there's a push for PPop to go global, the network for promoting pop groups isn't established yet. They're like first gen so they don't get the benefit of "inheriting" the fans of their seniors like in KPop. It's also why having the support of reactors like you is highly appreciated.

Bini got one of the best discographies in a group. Not only was it hard releasing a song post pandemic, it was also at the time where kpop is dominating the country and ppop was ridiculed as cringey.

Just for background info, ABS-CBN is known for being a giant broadcasting company same as what KBS/MBC/SBS is in Korea or NBC/CBS/ABC in the USA. Under their company, they have “Star Magic” which is the actual talent agency (like what SM, YG, JYP would be) and Star Music - the record label both of which Bini is signed to. Also, PPOP groups are fairly a new thing for ABS, and solo actors/actresses/singers have always been the norm in the Philippines. Bini is their only active legit Girl Group (they have a brother Boy group but they’re not as famous). So it’s not like the Korean companies where they focus on debuting people after a period of training. Philippine entertainment rely heavily on “talent-seeking” shows like Pinoy Big Brother, The Voice, Got Talent etc to find new stars.

The docu didn't dove dip into the dieting part of the korean training. There's a short interview of them where gwen told how she would hide food from the korean trainers, and how sheena said Jhoanna pretended to pass out just to get ice cream. Missed opportunity by the docu producer! Tone is too serious they should've showed more of their fun times

I just remembered this part and went back to it because it's election day there in the US: In the network shutdown portion, you were asking "was it bad, like Trump to us?" It was even worse. Probably the worst presidency of my lifetime (experienced 7 presidents already). Lots of killing, corruption, power tripping. and incompetency all throughout his term. There are a lot of reasons why the former president is still being hounded by the International Criminal Court, to this day.

Big brother in the Philippines is very different from Big Brother in the US or other western countries. A lot of strict rules are enforced, and the show is quite wholesome compared to wester Big Brothers because PH is a catholic dominant country and the show can get shutdown if they allow inappropriate things or bullying in the house.

FYI: ABS-CBN was shutdown because of the LAW, The Franchise of the COMPANY is just good for 1 Channel but ABS-CBN had a lot of channels under 1 license to operate only channel, and the CABLE company's were complaining to the government about why the ABS-CBN have a lot of channels, imagine how many years they were operating under 1 channel franchise... It was the CABLE company's complaint that triggers the Shutdown. Because CABLE company's are paying a lot for each channel they have on their STATION like example HBO, NBA, &Etc all channels had to pay for each channel, but ABS-CBN was just paying for 1 Channel but they have a lot of channels. That was it...
