I love them both for different reasons. The first style because it is rock chic! A little sassy, a little bad@$$y. The second style is a refined (dare I say Victorian-esque) mohawk perfect for a ball... it's edgy and walks the line, but it is incredibly elegant in such a way to walk in with the best confidence and leave with the most compliments. 💗💗💗

Loved this !!!! I am 50 with my hair almost to my waist, very much a kid . I missed 17 years of my life, being comatose so to speak, that I want to make up for. so I've wanted to shave the side of my head but thinking 10 years of growth is scary !!!! The great thing about hair.. it grows back! I had my hair in a very short faux hawk for a while, dyed pink on top. I loved it! But, I missed my curls, so I've let it grow back out. After being super short, and cut twice, [a year and 1/2] it's middle of my back. It's just hair. Do you!

I'm 58 with very long hair I don't intend to cut either..I just want to see how long it will get....as long as it's healthy looking and not a stringy mess. Regular trims and lost of caster oil to help it stay shiny and grow. I made my daughters and grand- daughters promise that they won't make me get it cut when I get too old to do it up myself..lolol and don't let me smell bad and help me with my makeup ..I maybe heading towards old age but this chickadee is going not going without a battle....I'm soooooo young at heart I'm thinking of how I might rock these styles...lolol. But seriously these are Soo beautiful and I think it's perfect for any who don't want to shave their hair but can have the look. I think that's why I love long hair Soo much because you can do Soo much with it. To me God never intended for us to get old...so I ain't doing it!!! :)

A good quality hairspray and a lot of patience. Usually, more ethnic-oriented salons that deal with textured hair also specialize in these types of braiding styles, as well, if you don't want to spend the time or effort, or just can't manage to at all. I would suggest doing a bit of research of local salons and read the reviews, especially if they have images of the end results with the certain beautician that did said style.

I googled it and they’re called zigzag comb headbands. I remember I used to wear them as a kid and they’d always scratch my neck. The banana clips are the ones that are actually curved like a banana.. my mom still wears them lol

SweetHearts Hair yeah banana clips were different - more of a giant “butterfly clip”, with big teeth lol Those zigzag headbands were literally the semi-circle (almost) basic plastic headband, but just a single row of short little “teath” to hold the hair in these sort of rows - and obvsly was in a zigzag shape lol

SweetHearts Hair AS someone who is old enoigh to have had a modified~Mohawk diruhf the days of Sid Vicious...Anarchy in the UK & God Save The Queen!!! I had my hair dyed jet black on top but had it going into a color called cherrywood by my shoulders and then blondish towards the end by the middle of my back! LOL! Oh yeah the second one is way better. And I actually AM part Mohawk NATIVE but now my hair is all one color and about to just above the middle of my back. Now IF I only had orangutan arms then I could do some of these styles! I post them on my FB to show my friends...it's my NOT so subtle hint of hey c'mon by and do this for me 1 day will ya? I love the first one since it reminds me of the half-cut I had as a 16-year-old baby-goth. I just went up from bed as I saw this video, no matter that it's late in the evening and tried to do it. Technically I've got it but my front hair is still a bit too short to do it myself without getting it messy. But for a special occasion I may ask a friend to help me.
