Man it's been a while since we've listened to Ayreon hasn't it? Time flies so fast dude it's crazy. It was so cool to hear these creative riffs again but holy shit, that vocalist is amazing! The passion and the power came through so clear and vibrant.

Great reaction! The lead singer is Damian Wilson. You saw him on your Intergalactic Space Crusaders reaction. You will see him in other Ayreon songs as Arjen uses him extensively in his projects. His outfit is that of a knight for his role in the Electric Castle songs like Amazing Flight or The Garden of Emotions. Actually this song is not an Ayreon song but is from another Arjen project called the Guilt Machine. Arjen often mixes in songs from his other projects in his live Ayreon concerts. Guilt Machine songs explore the destructive psychology of guilt, regret and the darkest form of secret -- the secrets we hide from ourselves. The female backing singers in the balcony are Marcela Bovio and Dianne van Giersbergen, both outstanding singers. Marcela's latest work has been with her old band Stream of Passion (another Arjen project initially). They are getting ready for a reunion concert in September and are releasing an EP. They have released two singles, The Hunter and The End is the Beginning, with videos on YT. Dianne van Giersbergen was lead singer in Xandria and a founder of the prog metal band Ex Libris. She has been slowly working on a solo project and has released the single After the Storm and is getting ready to release Unleash the Siren in a few weeks. Marcela and Dianne have a cool podcast called Are we Friends yet that is funny and very entertaining.

The other live videos you watched are from the Ayreon universe concert in 2017. This show is from 2019. Some of the same singers and musicians. Diane van Giersbergen in this video, and Simone and Mark from EPICA in other songs, are new faces at this one. And if you get to any videos with the narrator, he is played by John de Lancie. You probably know him as Q from Star Trek.

Technically this is not an Ayreon song but a song from one of Arjen's other projects called Guilt Machine.

Love this song mostly because of the singer. I suggest listening to his band "Headspace" They have 2 albums, the first is more metal, the second is more prog. Both are absolute gems.
