Thank you for watching the video! What's amazing about Twisted Electrons is that they proactively update the versions of their hardware even after a period of time has passed since its release. It's a great machine with more and more features.😊

@@SoundOptimize Seriously, the 4 kit variation is a mind blowing feature, and to be able to switch and alter each one so smoothly... it's amazing. I've missed out on the last 3 batches, but im looking every day, some twice, so i dont miss.

@@totalSLACK The variety of sounds is a really nice update. By the way, what I liked most about this update was the sandboxing of KIT (although it is not introduced in this video). With the previous method, I sometimes had to overwrite the KIT of another song, which was a problem, but I'm very happy that with sandboxing, I don't have to worry about that anymore. The steps to create a sandbox are a bit tedious, but the batch file provided by TE was useful.

I like the idea of this a lot, but I wonder how you would compare it with the Liven Mega Synthesis. The main issue I’m hesitating on is step length per part. I like synthesized drums over the MegaSynthesis’ PCM drums though.

LIVEN MEGA SYNTHESIS uses the YM2612 (emulated), while Blast Beats uses the actual FM chip, the YMF262. This chip was used for Sound Blaster, which was often installed in PCs in the 90s, but it was difficult to use it musically at the time. On the other hand, this chip has a wide variety of operating modes, and Blast Beats operates it in a mode that makes it easy to make beats. There are eight types of waveforms, including Sine (YM2612 only Sine), so the range of sounds that can be created is wide. However, there are only five algorithms, which are applied to the synth part. In addition, some sound parameters are shared in the rhythm part, and there are parameters that interact with each other, for example, SD and HiHat. The step length is a maximum of 64 steps (16 x 4 pages), and each step is fixed at a 16th note. MEGA SYNTHESIS has a maximum of 128 steps, and you can choose note lengths from 1/32 to 1/1. This means that when set to 1/1, you can create a maximum of 128 bars in one pattern. Both pieces of hardware allow you to set different step lengths for each part, making polyrhythmic performance possible. However, both pieces of hardware have their own quirks, and I think people will either love them or hate them.

I updated today and now the LED are acting strange. When the sequencer is running, not just one but a whole trail of LED is moving through the lower buttons so I can't see the steps well. Did they change that much? Maybe I got stuck in a mode I don't know, or maybe the update didn't work...

Did you enable the LED Chasing option? If you press step while holding function in step mode, the sequencer LED will Chasing positions 1-16 regardless of the sequence page. Switching the mode again will return to the previous movement.

Looking at the MIDI Implementation, it seems that trick FX cannot be controlled from external MIDI. Control from external MIDI is mainly limited to note triggers for each sound, and control of each parameter (fader part) including the synth part.

Just checked the MIDI chart.. patterns don't support program change either.. The unit needs both for amazing external control ✌️🥂✨

@@PlayBackRate The reason why it does not support pattern changes from a PC is probably due to its unique method of managing patterns and tones. BB has 10 song folders, each of which has 16 songs. One of these songs has 16 patterns and 10 kits, and each kit has 4 variations. Adding these together exceeds the numerical limit that can be handled by general MIDI (160 songs alone). I think this is why it does not support pattern changes from a PC. However, since moving between songs requires a reload, I think that if you limit it to one song (16 patterns, 10 kits, and 4 variations), it may be possible to control the patterns externally. It may be worth proposing this to TE. When watching videos of BB made by other users, I saw some that sent note information from an external sequencer and did not use the sequencer inside BB. If you do not use the trick FX inside BB (using BB purely as a sound source), external control may be fine.🎹🥁🎵

When units with sounds or patterns that exceed the 128 slot MIDI limit they usually divide the banks into groups of 128"s some units have special global midi channel specific to bank changes and global control.
