Twisted Metal: Black - Cut Voice Lines

Peeking around in the files within the Apr 12, 2001 prototype of Twisted Metal Black, I found unused sound clips in a folder called VAG. Some voice lines weren't included (such as Billy Ray) as they were duplicates of other sound files. It is very interesting to know that it was once planned for each driver to speak lines during gameplay! I can only imagine that they were cut as they would become annoying after multiple playthroughs.

I love the idea, although a part of me wonders how it could of been executed and if it would have gotten repetitive. I will say though. They should of left and finalize some of the death screams since those felt unique to each character...

The voice lines would have probably played when you destroyed a enemy and when you're at low health and well the death screams would happen when you die and you destroy them

It is *bizarre* that they actually got ahold of TM3 Marcus Kane’s voice actor, only to do very little taunt voicelines that didn’t make it to the final version of TM:B. (which is totally for the better)

Well this is certainly a discovery. Interesting how characters could have had their own unique death screams instead of the stock ones in the final build. Minion actually had a voice. Preacher has his prototype voice actor. I wonder how exactly No-Face is still able to communicate if his mouth is sown shut, and toungue removed. I feel like Needles is the last person to deliberately tell to get away from him. It's a shame we don't get all the secret characters.

My guess is what is in this video is all they were able to do before the feature was cut from the game. But dang, I could have loved for them to keep the unique death screams, but I can see why they were removed. They would probably wear out their welcome, and some of these actually sound more silly than serious (Dollface's death scream sounds like something that would cause parents to freak out, especially the last three noises, and Sweet Tooth's death scream having him screaming no three times sounds just as hokey as when Darth Vader yelled No in Revenge of the Sith).

Well I guess with No-Face you can say his lines are his Inner Monologue, just like how he could tell his story during the cutscenes... But it would've been better if they made his voice just him mumbling.

This is really awesome! Very interesting to hear Minion having a voice! Love Sweet Tooth's lines! I can see why they were cut but I think they could have added more to the game.

Funny how no face can talk, i mean in his story the doctor removed his Tongue and clossed his mouth, so if im correct him just been hum bling Also raven and doll face share same in game words, like live me alone

Considering it takes place inside of Needles Kanes imagination and the fact of the matter is that it also Marcus Kane's mind as well, it could be a case of schrodingers twisted metal, the vehicles are both alive and dead...as are the drivers. No one is really set in stone.

This is a interesting find I'm assuming the voices were when you were playing as them and you destroyed a enemy car and the death screams where for when you died as that and when you killed them

He is supposed to be this mysterious, imposing figure, and yet his death scream makes him sound like a damn monkey.

Hearing all of that I'm glad they cut the voices just playing black feels wrong to me I'd feel worse if I had to hear raven or doll face 's death screams (don't really care for bloody Mary though) I all ready feel terrible with the stock screams and knowing their back stories
