i still remember this like yesterday, the moment that Sweet Tooth jingle came up, the hype was fucking insane...its a shame that sony mishandled the marketing of this game between the point of its announcement and actual release, they almost released it silently...I still love this game tho even better than Black, dont care what anyone says about it...Sony needs to step up and bring this franchise back to PS5 with a new installment or atleast give us a remaster of TM1 and 2 and a re-release of this game with the online features restored...this game sold your console back in those days Sony, dont forget that and show it the respect it deserves.

This video is proof enough that yes, there was absolutely a market for car combat. Look at how hype everyone was during the announcement, and look at how much the excitement grew once the full-size Sweet Tooth came out onto the stage. Both Sony and David Jaffe seem to have this impression that the PS3 game sold poorly because the audience wasn't there, but the truth is that it did poorly because it wasn't what most fans wanted when they saw this announcement. The lack of characters, the new versions of old characters (everyone I know hates what they did with Dollface in the PS3 game), the poor online netcode that was never properly fixed, et cetera. After not getting the game until almost three years after it was announced, it was a letdown. If someone were to make a new game in the series that actually lived up to expectations, I guarantee it would blow up. Especially now, in the era where "battle royale" games seem to be taking over the industry for some reason.

Twisted Metal has always been my #1 favorite PlayStation series since the first game. I was excited for the PS3 Twisted Metal. But was disappointed of the story mode. The Multiplayer action was the best part of the game. All I want to see is a new PS5 Twisted Metal game. Bring us back the old school Twisted Metal playing like TM1 and TM2. Straight up choose a car along with all the original Twisted Metal drivers with good stories and go through 8 stages. That's it. Along with Online multiplayer action and a create a car mode. Or simply just make a Twisted Metal 2 remastered or something.

Hear me out Sony Twisted Metal: VANTABLACK Same story style as Twisted Metal Black. All the characters not a few. No live action videos. Create a Character/Car for Online play. Beginning, Middle, End stories. It has almost been Ten years since the last Twisted Metal. Gimme. Also. P.S. Most of these gameplay modes was removed sadly and the online servers was awful,you could barely find a room with anybody at all.And only 3 characters?.You have the cars thats represented the character but not in the game.No Mr Grimm,BOO!! And not to mention putting in races in a TM game which was not fun whatsoever.If i wanna play a racing game im playing midnight club or ridge racer or gran turismo.Not in a car combat game like TM.

The racing was there because of an intern who mad the mode thought it was fun, David didn't want it in but had to put the game mode in to not displeased the designer since he was in charge of the online. As for characters, Only Clowns/Sweetooth Dolls/Dollface Skulls/Mr.Grim and Preachers/Preacher were in the game. Also apparently the original plan was to make it a Free to Play Multiplayer car combat game and keep it at that, but unfortunately Sony wanted a Triple A treatment and forced them to make it a 60$ game. (Which explains the lack of characters/traditional Twisted Metal story mode.) This information could be seen in an interview series were the explain the Twisted Past and Story of Twisted Metal with David Jeff.

They did too much making each individual character bland if everybody can do the same thing. This killed Twisted Metal, I want sweet tooth in the ice cream truck not a damn motorcycle. Keep a classic game classic
