Great to hear this. Its disturbing whistled motif has, of course, become embedded in popular consciousness due to Tarantino and countless mobile phone ring tones. The whole score, though, is an example of Herrmann at his best. The music, with its low register woodwinds, coudn't be mistaken for anybody else. Orchestrations and conducting of his scores were all invariably by Benny himself, unlike many of his fellow greats who, due to time commitments as much as anything else, had to rely on other arrangers.

Although I used the new cover, the music if from the Twisted Nerve/The Bride Wore Black album. I'll try and find time for another British thriller Herrmann score, Endless Night, an equally great score in my book. The fun part is I discovered the whistling of Twisted Nerve subtitling the movie a couple of years ago, and not Tarantino's Kill Bill.
