Vil and our boys got robbed, but I think the reason why Neige constantly beats Vil in popularity is due to the differences in their "appeal". Vil is luxe, mature and stylish, like an untouchable entity that you could only wish to meet in your dreams, while Neige is cheerful, energetic and bright, which makes him come off as more approachable. He's doing ads for soda companies while Vil is a brand ambassador for an exclusive luxury shoe brand (Jade's SSR personal story) among other things. Neige is appealing to the masses by being relatable and cute, so picking a song to perform that's easy to sing and dance to while saying that he wants everybody to enjoy VDC is on brand for him. I can see why in a contest that's decided by popular vote and not talent or skill that he would do well, even though I appreciate effort more.

Omg these media staff... I feel like overblotting at the spot hearing their comments. This is a CONTEST, not a children's play 😣 At first, I was cheering for them because the song was really cute and nostalgic but I didn't know the context of everyone cheering at that time. But since Ace and the others mentioned that it was just a simple choreograph and they were even tumbling on their feet, compared to Vil and NRC's strict training and organized choreograph, people still praised them and think that their performance was the best! I--- 🗿Aughhh Vil had every right to be frustrated and angered by this. I would too to be honest, and I'm at a theater company for goodness' sake. Our training is very similar to Vil's which is why I relate to him a lot. Sorry if you had to read my rambling, and I also apologize if this had somehow offended Neige stans 🙏 but words can't describe how I'm literally crying rn after Vil walked away after RSA performed

OMG I FEEL THE EXACT SAME THING!! When I first heard RSA's song I was like "Wow this is adorable and stuff, but isn't this a kind of serious dance competition? NRCs song is definitely better suited for the VDC." And now where I finally watched a translation I am almost offended to hear that a) they didn't even make the song themselves?? What the heck?? b) their performance was really bad?? Like bruh- how dare these reporters say the song is better "because it's nice and nostalgic and family friendly" bitch NO they put zero effort in this??? Yea it's like you said. Idk why people like neige. In this performance it's obvious with his knowledge or not that neige is kinda selfish. Rather than having everyone shown he was in the senter (hiding the ones being due height) and he was the main voice. Out of 8 people we had only one to sing ~95% of the song be in the center and everything Meanwhile our boys were separated, Vil main voice 2nd Jamil and epel extra deuce Ace kalim rook. Unlike the previous performance everyone had time to sing even as a group and their position allowed them to be shown. Without anyone in the shadow

@Luna Darknet well, i could see how some people like neige. his cute, naïve, friendly and innocent personality is really reminiscent of kalim (i guess that’s probably why i tend to see lots of kalim fans make fanart of neige on twitter), and he also has a nice and soft voice. there’s also lots of amazing fanart of him, and people like to make their own headcanons, theories, au’s, etc. neige is pretty much a blank slate because we don’t know _too_ much about him, so i can see how fans like to play around with his character. p.s. i’m not a huge neige fan. yeah, i think he looks adorable, but as i mentioned before, we don’t know a lot about him, nor has his character been as thoroughly developed as some of the other nrc students (that’s understandable because the main focus of the game is on the nrc students, but it would still be interesting to get to know more about the rsa students too).

Hm...I can somewhat understand Vil's frustration. Although the NRC group did an absolutely perfect performance, they were simply beaten because the performers from RSA are cute, although their choreography was a mess and it seemed like they didn't even put in enough effort. It's like you working hard for your grade and getting a B only to find out the rich student in your class has been paying the teachers to give them straight A's- And this is interesting, it seems like our Scarabia bois and Rook knows what's up while the first years are ignorant~

I may be thinking about it too much, but why as a glitch? (rhetorical question) Also, my immediate thought was that Neige had wanted to gain the audience's favor by tapping into their emotions, the happy and nostalgia, to win while combining it with not harmonized vocals and choreography to make it cutesy "for all ages to enjoy" (albeit not suited for a VDC meant to display conventionally professional skills). Watching their performance, it reminds me of the difference between Kpop idols and Jpop idols. Vil represents Kpop idols that have been trained very vigorously and always maintain perfect appearance and often perform with perfection while Neige represent the Jpop idols. Jpop idols might not perform perfectly or have the perfect appearance, the most important thing is that their performance make people happy and make people want to dance to them. Both genres have their own charisma really, but I agree that it must have been frustrating for Vil to see that Neige’s performance got more praises simply because it make the audience feels nostalgic and happy.

I imagine all of the other schools are just as frustrated as NRC knowing how RSA win. I'm sure many of them also train real hard and have done their best, they would be more happy if it was NRC that win because they clearly had done a splendid performance, compared to RSA. Rather lost to a group that have great choreography and beautiful song rather than nursery rhythm with sloppy dance.

I am not gonna lie... When I first experience RSA's rhythmic map, I was cringing so hard... Like, the thing is, everyone hyped VDC as this classy competition so I was expecting K-pop level performance and then the little runts and snow white came to the stage with *nursery rhyme* (ffs out of all things???) and clumsy choreography? I can feel Vil's anger, tbh. So i was in a traditional dance club back then in my 11th grade. It's a club of 2 people, just me and my friend, but the teacher taught us anyway. We even went as far as persuading our classmate to join us because we're short on people to perform on our upperclassmen's graduation day. Since it's traditional dance, the choreography was quite hard. You can't go too fast nor too slow, we practiced since the first semester to perfect it and yet the graduation ceremony got cancelled because of corona. It's super frustating, ngl. We practiced for 3 songs even! Now this TV staffs saying that Neige's performance was better because it's cute? Bruh, they can't even dance properly. Vil aimed to be the top and Neige's like "I want to create an unforgettable memories with my friends." If you wanted to create memories with yo friends then why don't go relaxing and have a vacation with them instead of throwing yourself into an international competition and mess everything up? Sorry for my rambling, I just got so angry after reading this part🙏🙏

I’m absurdly late Anyways, I can’t help but think this is such a commentary about the music industry: how the simpler choreography and lyrics sticks to your head, even though other productions may have better quality and people put their blood, sweat and tears on it. Although I thought NRC’s song was an absolute BANGER, it was RSA’s that got stuck in my head, no matter how “shallow” it may sound compared to the first. So I can see why Vil thought they lost. Neige and the dwarves made something full of feelings and people are nostalgic because it remind them of their childhood. Vil and the others made something more technical, the song and the dance are perfect on Vil's side. In contrary, there's nothing perfect on Neige's side.
