YALL WAIT I GOT A THEORY!! What if this AU is similar to what will happen in the canon? What would it affect? We’ll do you remember the tutorial boss? Who did that resemble? Grim. Yuu and Grim have gotten extremely close over time. And one of the requirements for overblotting is negative emotions. What if this was the trigger for Grim? What if we, the player, become the reason for his overblot? I wouldn’t say this is how the story ends, but it could lead to the hardest battle yet.

Ohhhh, this would be so sad. This is worse than going back to their own world and not seeing our NRC cast achieve their dreams. Yuu isn't even awake/conscious to witness any of it! Silver being a dream traveler was a surprise in the story, although it does make sense now why he is narcoleptic: because of his limited control over crossing the plains of consciousness. And of course he would visit Yuu when they were asleep for 100 years; they are true battle buddies now instead of just being "sociable acquaintances through various game events". Merriweather, say the words that give me comfort. "Sweet Yuu, if through this wicked witch's trick, you're hurt and stuck and quite heartsick, a ray of hope there still may be in this. The gift I give today. Not in death, but just in sleep, this fateful promise you will keep. And from this slumber you shall wake. With true love's kiss, the spell shall break."
