Gonna be controversial, but as someone who's been in tornadoes before, I love that they added the green tint. It might look silly or weird to people who don't live in tornado alley, but everyone from here can tell you that green sky looks just like that and is ominous as hell.

Would you like the next release of Jurassic Park to have fearhered dinosaurs to "be more realistic"? Would you like the next Star Wars release to not have explosions nor sounds in space to "be more realistic"? Would you like Dorothy's ruby sleepers to be silver to be more accurate to the Wizard Of Oz book? I know you will say yes to all those questions just for the novelty of seeing things messed up, but that’s the problem. Do you know what film preservation is about? Artistic integrity? These kind of changes in home media are at the expense of the originals films which are not longer going to be available after these remasters get done because all subsequent re-releases will be taken from them. We should not have to go back to inferior previous formats to be able to see an accurate version of these films. It's STAR WARS ESPECIAL EDITIONS happening again at a bigger scale! DNR and Re-color grading are killing the purpose of watching older films.

I believe Bill mentions something about the sky going green in the scene, and there wasn't really any green in the original so they enhanced it in 4K
@robertjacques41173 ай бұрын
From what I understand too is that the director Jan De Bont did want the green tint from the beginning however they couldn't get it right with the color timing theatrically, pre digital color grade Era, among other reasons, so they just left it and the bluray wasn't supervised by him so it was just left neutral for all those years, then for this transfer they could get it where he wanted and he had final say this time. Granted it is a bit overly green perhaps but still it makes more sense for the scene and since that can really happen with bad tornadoes, I feel it makes more sense and fits the scene, it's funny how people got used to (including me) bluray transfers for films, thinking that's how they looked or was the intent, there is a staggering amount that were wrong for years like this one, training day, Matrix, Trains potting, Dark Knight, soooo many and I'm glad they're finally the way they were originally intended, as long as it doesn't mess with the film in any way
@Soundtracks923 ай бұрын
An actual green sky is what you’re seeing. Originally when he said “Goin’ green” it didn’t even look green to begin with, more like brown
@Soundtracks923 ай бұрын
@@robertjacques4117 exactly, it makes more sense for the scene. If the characters said “it’s going purple!” And you saw a red sky instead, it would be confusing. Just like originally when we heard Bill say “It’s going green” and instead we saw more of a murky brown sky. This time the sky is actually green, so it’s perfect. Also in real life, before tornadoes show up, the sky will actually turn into a menacing intense green color just like you see in the 4K version. It’s very eerie
It seems weird but the sky really does get that green during tornadoes and hail storms. I've seen it myself.

It doesn’t matter, the movie never looked like that, and it was never supposed to look like that. It is revisionism, an attempt to modernize a piece of history that had to be preserved as it was. "Keep your CRAYONS AWAY FROM MY PICTURES" a once wise filmmaker said.

To the weather people and those who support the GREEN revisionism... would you like the next release of Jurassic Park to have its iconic big velociraptors be replaced with feathered tinny ones so they would "be more realistic"? Would you like the next Star Wars release to not have explosions nor sounds in space so it could "be more realistic"? Would you like Dorothy's ruby sleepers to be silver so they could be more accurate to the Wizard Of Oz book? I know you will say yes to all those questions just for the novelty of seeing well known things messed up, but that’s the problem. 4K is not about being faithful to real life, it's about being faithful to IT'S THEATRICAL VERSION with all its virtues and flaws, this one IS NOT. Do you know what film preservation is about? Artistic integrity? These kind of changes in home media are at the expense of the originals films which are not longer going to be available after these remasters get done because all subsequent re-releases will be extracted from them. We should not have to go back to the inferior previous formats to be able to see an accurate version of these films. It's the STAR WARS ESPECIAL EDITIONS situation happening again at a bigger scale! Twister is just one example, DNR and changing the color grading are killing the purpose of watching older films in formats that were created to give us a more faithful theatrical experience.
@Horror_Collector4Life3 ай бұрын
That thing with the green sky in Twister makes me automatically think of Stephen King's Pet Sematary from 1989. The Director Mary Lambert also made some changes for the 4K to make it look more modern. But for me as a long-time fan of the film, it just looks very strange, especially the one with it the glow of the cat's eyes. That's why I have such a hard time getting used to the 4K format. There are just too many changes to the classics that we grew up with. For many people it doesn't seem to be a problem what is done with it as long as the 4K image looks sharp enough and I'm often out of the loop on that topic and stick to older formats like DVD or BLURAY 🤷♂️ Dolby Atmos and HDR are all well and good, but the actual goal of this format somehow gets off track if you ask me.

Dans la matrice du Blu-Ray alors, pas du 4k du coup, parce que la version 4k de Matrix était beaucoup moins "verte" que la version BR.
