I'm disappointed that this isn't a legacy sequel but rather a standalone sequel. I would have loved the story to be taken over by the child of Jo and Bill in the continuation of their work. For those that don't know, a standalone sequel is a work set in the same universe, yet has little or no narrative connection to its predecessor, and can stand on its own without a thorough understanding of the series

Basically like the all female Ghostbusters, then? Yeah, I hate that. I'm already leary of sequels to films that didn't need them. Now I hear this? I don't know... we'll see.

It's comparable. Twister, in 1996, pushed the limits of available technology. It went as far as it could to portray tornadoes on screen. Twisters 2024 is merely doing the same. More layered, more dense, more three-dimensional and immersive. In 1996, ILM had to do tests to show they could create a convincing animated vortex. The intention on this new film is to remain grounded in heart and character while putting the audience even closer to the action. Because they can.

I'm looking forward to seeing it. I just saw alot at one time (it was a trailer to be fair) like them almost getting hit by something, then the water tower getting hit, then so and and so forth. If they stay fairly grounded, it's bound to be awesome.

Two tornados actually arent that rare, especially if the smaller tornado is a satellite tornado. They really arent two tornados but just a main vortex with a smaller one orbiting it, often for a short period of time before receding into the larger circulation. I believe the shot following the line about them combining is actually a completely different tornado, as it appears much more similar to the tornado hitting the town of El Reno (with the water tower) near the end. The part with fireworks does seem stupid but also not unbelievable. The visuals of that tornado especially look very real. Wouldnt suprise me if some idiot actually tried something like that one day. The only truly unbelievable thing is the fire tornado, which really dont happen like that. In regards to the debris hitting the water tower, there was actually a case of an EF5 tornado throwing a vehicle into a water tower half a mile away and leaving a permanent dent. Had that car instead been a piece of solid metal without crumple zones, and hit the supports, it very well might have collapsed.

I've actually heard a bit about those vortexes that come off the main vortex. Not the most infomred about tornadoes, but fascinated enough that I've watched and read alot about them. Hoping this is a good one. Thanks for stopping by.
