Thumb's up Captain. Your real deal riding and camping tours bring back memories of my cousin and I several years ago doing much the same. More to be done though. Thanks for the inspiring video. Cheers, Sean.

Thanks, Cap'n. Another great inspiring video! Nicley filmed and edited. (Soundtrack was your own music...right?). I'm also looking at camping at the Mann River Campground during my mid-October holidays with "Hogan" my CB500X. Curious, as to where you got your firewood from? Do you carry some sort of small axe or hatchet to split the wood? When you set up the drone shot, where you at the "Mallanganee lookout" off Bulmers road? Owen your ridding mate also seems like a good "Chappy" 😀

Many thanks Sean for the great comments and for following my adventures mate! Yeah I only ever use my own music :) The firewood is supplied by Nat Parks for the people who pay to camp there, but saying that, people who were wild camping further back along the road came and stole a lot of it (even though there is ample firewood lying around if they just collected it where they were! Bloody freeloaders!) I do carry a hatchet, which doubles as a peg-hammer though. Doing the old road from Grafton through to there would be a great way to start your trip mate! Allen is a great, fellow CB500x riding, mate! Yes, Malanganee Lookout.

@@CaptainCrankyMotovlogger Yep bloody free loading slackers piss me off also. Will definitely be taking a small camping hatchet with me in October. So many great dirt/gravel roads in the area you filmed. Totally looking forward to riding some of them come October! In the meantime, hopefully we get to see more of your and Falkor’s adventures! (And "Allen's") 😄

Great ride. Old Grafton/Glen Innes Road is on my list. Did you have to take your own fire wood?

It's one of the real bucket list rides! This is a National Parks Campground, they supply firewood for those who pay the small amount to camp there, if you camp elsewhere along the river there is a lot of firewood lying around.

@@CaptainCrankyMotovlogger wow … 🤩 still holding good fuel economy ? - ever had valve clearance done? Mine is coming up and wondered whether to do it - regular oils changes and zero change in fuel economy over last 20,000k (I log every fuel fill up - always around 3.5L/100) so wondering whether to leave it another 10k or so … it’s quite expensive and right now the bike is running just like it always has no audible ch age or change in fuel economy.. so thinking is probably ok ..

@@1964mjc I don't really check the fuel economy much. I did notice it once, about 4.5L/100 but that was during a trip in Central Qld with 50Kg luggage and constant speeds around 120K/hr. I have the valves checked during every 24000Km major service (when the mechanic already has the bike apart, so to speak) it's never been out of speck but it's not much more $ for peace of mind.
