Twitch Affiliate vs Twitch Partner

A few facts from an almost 2 year streamer who is still an affiliate: 1) Getting Affiliate is super easy. This is no big deal at all. It's supposed to be EASY. 2) Most Partners don't give a damn about an affiliate even if you are a good fella. Don't wanna help, promote, host, whatever. You will just be eating their bread and they don't wanna help that in any way. 3) Getting 75 viewers is the single BIGGEST problem on the road to partnership. Even if you are really cool guy, keep in mind that about 1% of your followers will watch your stream. So if you have 1000 of them that would be 10. So you need about 7500 followers before you MIGHT get these 75 concurrent viewers. Without this = you will never get partnered. So sorry for blowing the bubble for some people.. But it's just reality and experience. Don't be discouraged though. Some people really SKYROCKET and i know a guy who got partnered in 2 weeks. This is rare situation though :)

Angry Roleplayer the two twitcher I watch the most have less then 3k followers and he got panther last month and the other has less then 800 and has 40 avg viewers hell even one other guy I watch has less then 300 and gets 20-90 depending on the time of day

ive been on twitch for about 5 years, still only have affiliate, still not getting like any views ;( none of these "grow quick" vids actually work, don't listen to these people

100% agreed with you. I've been streaming on Twitch for 7 months. Affiliate for 5 months. Not as long as you guys, but I believe my personality, knowledge about the game, and all the frick ups happen on my streams. Partners don't bother "networking" with small streamers, because it "drags" them down. Also people don't want to view streams that have no chat or high viewer count. I talk for 4 hours straight about college life, games, and interact with chat. YET only numbers matters to the general public.

Agree with the burnout, its very easy to do. Once i cut my schedule down to 3 days a week (based on tips in Ashni's podcasts and videos) it has helped me BIG time

I think planning for the future, I would actually love a video more in depth on what happens after partner. Not just the "perks" but like what goals should you be setting now and what can you look forward to?

As an affiliate with like 8- 10 average viewers, or 20-30 on a good night, I don't think there are as many opportunities for us :/ like I've been looking and thinking and I do think oppertunity is brought in by the viewer/follower count most of the time, or by the connections someone has. And a lot of the time its hard to make those connections without seeming hungry for the oppertunities. Do you have any examples of oppertunitites for affiliates?

Love all your video's and look forward to watching future ones. Affiliate is super easy to get. I stopped streaming for 2 years came back and had affiliate in 3 weeks. Because i had been streaming for about an year and half before stopping i had over 150 followers and before i stopped i had 3-5 regular viewers from building relations with other streamers communities that support other streamers i am active in. and i was streaming 3-4 days a week so it was super easy to get. Sadly I have had to take a step back from streaming again as life has gotten pretty hectic and since I have very little time for myself I can't fit streaming in anymore :( I do feel that requirement should be upped though. the active streaming hours is fine and the follower requirement is ok but maybe increase it to 75. Getting 3 concurrent viewers is pretty easy to achieve and i feel it would be better if it was around say 5-10. getting 5-10 returning viewers is a challenge for many streamers and those who can achieve it should be rewarded imo.
