For anyone looking to play: if you buy a ship, you'll have somewhere to stash your loot, it can be accessed anywhere outside of a dungeon, and they're fairly cheap.

For anyone curious: the mod that has the character companions seems to be "Language Skills Overhaul" -- it's not on the mod list in the description. Seems pretty rad since it makes the skills not semi-useless like in OG Daggerfall.
