Just wanted to say I really like the addition of the Wins and Fails title in the thumbnail - I know vague, catchy titles are the way to go now, but I always like to know if a video is a Wins and Fails or a Marketing Monday or a Reddit Recap or just some react content. Having it in the thumbnail is a good compromise.

I think they should make a new partnership company with a 50/50 split where Apple TV and Disney plus combine onto one platform, apple can manage the tech so it's more evenly balanced, that way through consolidation they manage to make money on their streaming platforms

I'm from a country who's people flock to america in droves in search for a job, and out here, a H1B visa is often called the "lottery visa" because the process to get it is incredibly difficult. People who DO get it are seen as being "set in life and incredibly lucky". Those people are given sky-high expectations from their family, and are expected to contribute more to their family/collective. Losing said visa is like losing your life, with most of the people you know getting the idea that "Oh this guy lost his golden chance, what a dumbass", even if you had no control over keeping your job. Yes twitter should've laid off its workers if it has to stay afloat. But don't forget that the employees are not the "leftist SJWs with dyed hair" most think of them as, they're human beings that may be returning to abusive conditions at home or worse conditions in general, a fact twitter itself forgets from time to time. Seriously the amount of chad elon vs. Cuck SJW dyed hair wojak fat female twitter employee with a pride flag phone case memes i have seen is insane.

H1B is a visa designed to be exploited. America has always needed an exploitable working class who have little choice but to do as they are told and make their betters richer. The H1B is a simple agreement: "You will work the hours I tell you, off the books if need be, and forget about overtime. Sick days? You wish. You do whatever I want. Don't like it? Then you're fired, and deported, enjoy your poverty. Oh, you want to take legal action because I didn't pay you? Then you're fired anyway!"

The tough thing for me in Bob Iger as CEO coming from someone entrenched in the Disney brand (Stock, Annual passes, DVC, Disney+, DCL, ect.) is that while Chapek wasn’t good, Bob wasn’t great when he left either. He debuted the most widely criticized Star War Trilogy, started a bunch of projects that either went nowhere (NBA experience) or are still unfinished years later (Epcot entrance which has garnered the nickname by regulars as “The Hole”) with steady decline in the experience for guests who go regularly and pay the most money annually over his tenure with Chapek further nuking that experience and restricting the purchase of annual passes which have limited Disney’s Park revenue. Will be interesting to see play out but I don’t see Iger drastically improving that based on his actions prior to leaving.
@tylere.8436
@tylere.8436 2 жыл бұрын
Disney will learn absolutely nothing and will continue to alienate fans and families with woke garbage. Iger returning makes me think he left so he can look like the good guy after the inevitable COVID downtown when restrictions ended and people stopped binging on Disney plus as much as they did.
@foxythegod28
@foxythegod28 2 жыл бұрын
@@tylere.8436 honestly Disney+ was kinda destined to burn money if you look at the overall streaming space but I think parks are what really matters and makes Disney money. Cause you can make a good movie and make money but what’s one better, take that movie, and turn it into an attraction or experience (we’ve seen this with Ratatouille, Star Wars, Cars, ect.) such that you have millions spending a cool thousand easy on 1 trip most likely more in an ecosystem where you get every cent of that money (hotels, admission, food, drinks, merch). Like Disney could frankly release a couple mediocre movies a couple Home on the Ranges and still make bank if they just invested properly into the parks

Just wanted to add in some info about Story Book Brawl. To clarify Story Book Brawl, or SBB for short, isn't a crypto based game. The original studio was founded by a few pros from the Magic the gathering scene. The developers really wanted to push a competitive scene for the game even though they were still in early access. The whole community behind the game for the most part is really supportive of them. When they got acquired by FTX, it was a mixed bag. On the one hand, they didn't need to worry about the funding of the game anymore and were able to host more community events. On the other hand, they got review bombed by crypto haters on steam. Now that FTX is in this whole situation, it really sucks for the devs and the community. Everything is in limbo. Which sucks because the game is really fun and the feedback from the community and devs are really positive. Anyway thats just my 2 cents on the whole situation.

I doubt Disney could legally sell itself to apple. Although the FCC and regulation of monopolistic practices is at its weakest, I don’t think the government would ever allow it go through, simply due to the sheer amount of modern media control apple would then have in total.

That and another issue: The FTC tends to allow mergers if the American company is looking at an American company in a field with mostly foreign options. They hate consolidation, but they hate the idea of a Chinese or EU media company getting their hands on Disney a bit more.

Yeah Big A's take was a bit off. Twitter's platform is made of dozens of small services which all require constant maintenance. Some of them are starting to fail, but hopefully the core functionality will stay alive long enough for new engineers to come on board. Twitter's also old enough that they run a lot of physical infrastructure (servers etc). That's a fair bit of overhead and risk compared to other social apps, that just pay a provider for infrastructure (AWS, Msft, Google)
@playgrop
@playgrop 2 жыл бұрын
I think saying that Twitter just "serves text" is wrong, it's a rather large system with many subsystems all running concurrently and sharing data among eachother. They're taking in new data, updating things in real time, doing analysis on this data, using the results of this to then serve you more etc. If old twitter engineers are to be trusted then Twitter is rather well built and tested, the issue being that if something goes wrong it's not an easy fix. Firing large amounts of engineers lose you the people who have the knowledge to fix that.

I don’t know if atrioc actually knows this or not but cars is one of Disney’s biggest money makers and releasing Cars 4 would be a great recovery because of how much merch those movies sell

Firing everyone in the sales and advertising departments was a great call, because they're a huge reason Twitter was and still is losing money. They were spending hundreds of millions on billboards alone for several years straight, and all the billboards did was trend on their own platform for a couple hours. I also wouldn't be surprised if embezzlement was happening here. Twitter should have nothing but engineers working to keep the app updated, optimized, and functional on all platforms. Then, select teams can focus on actually making money, which is currently just Elon.

oh the engineers and the tech staff with familiarity with the system who he also fired? kekw Elon took a loan and put twitter into even more debt! thats LITERALLY the opposite of making money 😂😂

@@MrGhostTheBigRoast He did fire a few engineers, but the thousands he let go were all from sales and advertisement. The company was extremely bloated. Also, the loan came out of Elon's pocket, not Twitter's. By firing the sales and advertisement departments, Twitter not only cuts their payroll expenses in half, but they also cut all the pointless expenses those departments were splurging with (hundreds of millions a year on billboards alone). I will not be surprised if it's reported that Twitter cut over 90% of its expenses by simply firing them.
