On the Singapore thing. I believe there are a lot of subsidiaries of Chinese companies in Singapore. Mihoyo (Genshin Impact's creator) has a subsidiary called Cognosphere which is basically the international arm of Mihoyo. I know they've done some experimental stuff (see Yoyo Lumi) and were investing into the Metaverse. They could be investing into AI. There are probably also other Chinese subsidiaries operating in Singapore that could be doing the same thing but it would take more of a deepdive

Do keep in mind that the deepseek model was created by using the openai, meta, etc... models for training. So they created something that won't be able to surpass the competition in this way. is everyone ignoring how nice deep seek is for developers? It's a really good, free, and easier to run. It's around 8 cents, give or take 3, for ChatGPT's api. I could download, host, and use DeepThink in around 10 minutes because it ranges from ~1 to ~400 gigabytes.
