As a physician, while I always enjoy your podcasts, it would really be helpful if you could possibly timestamp each of the topics as many of the other top shelf podcasts and channels do, as many/most of us are unable to listen/watch the entire episode and this would help us pick and choose those subjects we have the most interest in. Thank you!

The podcast has links for all the research papers. While there isn’t a timestamp, everything is listed in the order that it’s discussed.

It’s disgraceful how uneducated most physicians are today on COVID and treatment practices. I know someone age 68 denied paxlovid last month because they weren’t “high risk”.

It's just awful . The AMA has fallen down completely on this issue. It shouldn't be Russian roulette to get treatment.

Good to know that the new Novavax protein based vaccine will be available soon. It sounds like it should be less reactogenic than the Moderna or Pfizer BioNTech mRNA versions…Glad to hear Vincent believes that the Novavax should be as effective though not based on the KP 1 variant…

I'm a very strong reactor and was hoping to get Novovax, but we're traveling next week, so I got Moderna three days ago. Oy. mRNA seems to consistently give me three days of fever, malaise, body pain, headache. It may be a small price to pay, but I look forward to trying Novovax down the road.

Dr. Griffin's paper on long covid is linked in the show notes and it's terrific! Thorough but succint and not hard to read, at least not for a TWIV fan. And it's not hyperbolic or doomy, it's just an evidence-based framework. Much recommended and appreciated! 🤘

As an elderly ignorant layperson I'm so grateful to Dr Griffin since it covers so much of the current understanding of the condition in a way that can be referenced and passed on to others interested. I'm sure there's plenty here for the medically trained as there is for others like me.

WaPo has an article about vaccinations in Gaza. I wanted to comment, citing TWiV, but for some reason, comments closed super early. There are three writers on the story. I encourage everyone to email them to encourage their checking in with TWiV about the dangers of OPV and the advisability of IPV.

Hello, 50 year old white male who currently has covid. My entire family is sick. I began having symptoms 4 days ago. It’s mainly been fairly mild but I do keep spiking fevers of 100 to 102, but they go down after taking ibuprofen. I don’t have many risk factors: have fit healthy body weight and lifestyle, don’t smoke or drugs, drink alcohol mildly, no chronic illnesses. I only had the initial vaccine and booster (moderna) back in 2021 or so. My question is should I take paxlovid ? My doc is willing to prescribe but seemed to suggest that they didn’t think I was a great candidate for it given my lack of risk factors. Any feedback wound be greatly appreciated.

Sabine Polio vaccine - no one talks about ME/CFS, which used to be called the New Polio, has almost identical symptoms to Polio but different as the vax contains the Coxackie virus which is in the same family but slightly different. And identical to Gulf War Syndrome (they were highly vaxxed) and 'Long Covid' of which a side effect of the shot is ME/CFS and MS (which they believe is caused by the same thing as ME/CFS but a slightly different manifestation of symptoms). All of this points back to v injury. And in the case of ME/CFS, it can be delayed many years, e.g. 10 years, like the paralysis described in this podcast.

34:39 drug users are highest risk and most likely to be hospitalized, and least likely to receive paxlovid prophylaxis. Also, they excluded people with follow up medication after paxlovid, like antibodies or corticosteroids, you'd think before carting off to the hospital, people would first get some more meds, so getting these is a marker of severity. 41:30 I recommend everyone look at the absolute numbers in Table 1 of the mental illness study. Monoclonal antibodies seem to work for covid, per a number of meta analyses regarding hospitalizations and mortality.

Circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus Type II" (cVDPV2) is a real problem, although a rare one. While replicating in vaccinated humans, the live attenuated Type II virus can occasionally throw a mutation to become an infectious disease virus again, and this has been documented many times in different countries. (Science org article)
@christopherrobinson7541
@christopherrobinson7541 Ай бұрын
@@Barbara-li5yb Incorrect.The OPV always reverts and can be shed and infect others who have not been vaccinated. However the infection often does not show symptoms and only in a few cases does it result in disease which causes paralysis. The latest versions of OPV (OPV2 etc) require more replication cycles to revert, but they all revert.

Maybe some antinucleocapside SARS COV2 IgM antibody induced cold agglutination ? Maybe after vaccination this antibody did not occur? If occur, must warm oxigen mix at body temperature.
