I got one of those at Aldi last year. I haven't used it a bunch yet but so far it's holding up well.

I would have put the ruler/protractor facing the screw handles as I would consider that the "front" of it.

Would make sense, but they probably had a logic behind it. Maybe many prefer to work on the other side, to not have the handles in the way 🤷🏻‍♂️
