I loved this interview so much! Hillary is so honest about her 9ness. I just recently learned I'm a social 9w8 after thinking I was literally every other type for years. The daily battle to stay present and productive is legit. Great interview, thanks Tom and Hillary 😊

I'm so glad you both were on a show together! I enjoy listening to you both. It sounds like Hillary schedules her self time. That's good. I'm a 2 with 1 wing and I have learned a lot from both of you. Thank you for sharing!

Hillary, you called it for me as a Nine. “I can find unnecessary things to be doing.” This is SO hard to regulate. (9w8, too)

I DO agree that we learn so much more, by witnessing real folks talk about their experience with their enneagram numbers and fixations. The passions or sufferings, is fascinating with a 9. One can hear about the concept of "sloth" but it stays vague until you hear about the lived experience. More of the same, PLEASE!!!!!!

This was a great interview. You both are very optimistic, intelligent, and very knowledgeable about the enneagram teachings.

"The only thing we're missing is a type one in our family." I'd savour that situation Tom. Ones with all their judgements are a pain.

I´m a 9w8 with 2 best friends who are both 7s and I would absolutely describe us all together as Dumb & Dumber hahahah

Ok, so I’ve been struggling to find my type for the past few years and have considered four different types. But when I stepped back and went back to the basics, set aside stereotypical personality traits and just looked at the core fears and motivations, I thought it was pretty clear I relate most to the struggles of the 5. (I thought I was a 1 because I’m a perfectionist, but I think I’m a perfectionist because I don’t want to look incompetent or foolish. I thought I was a 9 because I’m afraid of conflict, but it’s not so much about peace and harmony. I just don’t feel competent in social interactions in general and worry about how I’ll come off. I thought I was a 4 because I’ve been told I’m sensitive and dramatic, and I often feel different from other people. But I don’t want to be different; my goal is to blend in and hide out in my corner.) And then hearing you both talk about your type 5 sons, I was sitting here going yes, I am definitely the person who wants to interrupt a show or movie to info-dump what I know, lol! So that’s where I’m at right now.

Anyone else an Enneagram 9 who has fallen into the rabbit hole of how amazing the Enneagram is and want to watch all these videos and read all these books...but then questioning whether you're doing it out of distraction or interest and always questioning your life choices? Or just me. XD

9s like sensorial and esthetic comfort and pleasure, that's why as a 9 I like to redecorate my room too. It appeases me. (That's Si function in socionics)

Yay!! So happy to see you both together ❤ what a wonderful thing to wake up to today!! I do have a request- I stumbled across this video about how the types came to be, and thought it would be interesting to hear both of your thoughts. Break it down for us 😊 I haven’t seen anyone tackle something similar, and as a 9, I sloth around with videos a lot 😂 Here’s the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZCWaJ9_p8SjibM
