Why? 1 - Top 3 talk from Antonio Pierce. 2 - Antonio Pierce was not only the Assistant LB Coach, but MUCH more importantly, the Recruiting Coordinator with the team. 4 - Marvin Lewis was a Special Advisor at this same time. 5 - Not only was JJ McCarthy offered from Arizona State, but he also took a visit to the campus. 6 - His QB coach at Michigan, Kirk Campbell, played for Luke Getsy at West Virginia Wesleyan. 7 - McCarthy called Pierce “a great guy” and “someone I could definitely see myself playing for.” 8 - Former Chargers GM Tom Telesco is now GM of the Raiders. 5th overall, JJ McCarthy to the Raiders

Norris, as it pertains to NE/MIN trade, you think that’s enough compensation to go from 3 to 11? I feel like the Patriots will demand more, especially because the Vikings are a QB away from contending and that 2025 1st could be 20+….just seems like giving up choice of QB, Alt, and probably the top 3 WRs (all positional needs) would require more compensation imo.

Especially for a QB that isn’t even a top 20 prospect. Nix is a way better fit in Minnesota than JJ is. He is a great decision maker, extremely smart, gets rid of the ball quick, very accurate, and will be able to get the ball to the Vikings elite receivers and let them cook. Similar to what Kirk Cousins was doing. But way more athletic.

Taking a tackle over MHJ would be 1 foot out of the door for Jim Harbaugh. You can't go in with a 2 WR set of Joshua Palmer and Quentin Johnston or a later rookie. You just can't.

LMAO. Vikings might not think Maye has the cleanest throws. But he is the best QB for Justin Jefferson. He relies on Body Control and adjusting and attacking the ball while in the air. Maye has that touch to make all throws into tight placed. McCarthy throws hard line drives with a lot of power. and needs WR that can get separation in open space with a lot of speed. That will be allot tougher in the NFL. Maye is our guy.

I think he read to much into Harbaugh not trading down because he could have had JJ McCarthy Well insert the circumstances that is not possible at all anyway. So I’d do the exact opposite and say he would be doing his old QB a favour by helping him get a top 5 salary and be set. I think bottom line is of Minnesota offers two 1st rounders he has to take it. The Vikings draft capital is incredibly overrated. 11, which is outside of elite prospect territory, and 23, which is outside of “1st round grade” territory. Any future first would project as a mid-1st at best. Patriots would be foolish to move off of 3 for that. If they trade back it would/should be with NYG.
