I am always stunned how even such a basic Buchla system creates such complex stuff with only two or even one (!!!) oscillator(s)! This is really outstanding.

The bigger it is the more precise you can get but it is true you get some superb and complex tones with not so much ;-)

@@Stazma It's like the Buchla Easel: such a small machine and such sound complexity! Buchla is a universe in itself.

Hi stazma, maybe you can explain this if you don't mind. You seem to know these modules. I put together a small system of these modules, to be exact, the vco, the eg, two sequencers and the source of uncertainty. Heres what i wanted to do: i wanted to create a melodic sequence of notes that have a short plucky sounding decay, (as in your video at some point), but with my patching it doesn't seem to sound plucky at all.(it sounds like no envelope involved and straight from the vco) Its not a short enough decay. Let me describe the patch , *firstly, i dont have the tiptop buch LPG or mixer that you have in this video., or the voltage processor. I have a simple 2hp mixer and a simple passive LPG. Here's the patch: 1-The vco audio output goes to the LPG audio in. 2- the 245t sequencer cv output goes to the vco v/oct . 3- the eg output is patched to the LPG cv input (that's where i assumed i can set a short fast decay) but, maybe I'm doing something wrong. 4- the LPG audio out is going to the mixer module input & and that's the final output. To make it simple, how would i patch a melodic sequence of short plucky notes using the vco,eg ,sequencer and the non buchla mixer and LPG ? Please describe the patch points of what goes to where on what module. Additionally, does the sequencer need a quantizer to sound correct for a melodic sequence, (I guess it does for keeping notes in a scale, but I'm not sure). In my patch it actually sounds like there's a slight slur/glide between notes if I'm not mistaken. Thanks

The way you describe your patch should work, the problem might come from the passive lpg, most do not work with the 281t (it’s in the manual) due to some output buffering of some sort. Try patching to a buffered mult in between the EG out and the lpg, it sometimes work.
