@FishAholicTV8 жыл бұрын
Hey FishAholic's and fisherman the weight of 9lbs is an estimate based on Floridian Length by Girth Weight Ratio. The WEIGHT can be what ever you want it to be. Many Tackle shops in Florida backed me on the estimate from "Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Florida Bass Weight Calculator" here is the link legacy.myfwc.com/fish/ After punching in the length and girth of both fish (Big Bass 1, 24inch length and 18.5inch girth) (Big Bass 2, 23.5inch length and 19inch girth) you can see the calculator show's the estimate's of over 9lbs by clicking the link and punching in these measurments.

Would rather you not come to my state and abuse our bass. if you catch them, don't lay them on the ground and keep them out of water for a 10 min talk. you most likely killed that 2nd big fish. Kill them in your own state, leave ours alone.
@Gotafish17 жыл бұрын
YTTechSupport, Could not agree more. Acting the fool, laying fish on the ground. Nice fish no doubt, but probably died do to not giving a crap about the fish.

never lay your fish on ground or dirt, it removes a protective layer of slime that opens the fish to diseases in the water
@howabouthetruth21578 жыл бұрын
+Corey Petroskey (GamingWithCorey) I just posted a comment saying the same thing, lol. It's true. Bank fisherman fishing for bass should pack a piece of plastic in a ziploc baggie to lay on the ground. The smooth plastic helps preserve the slime coating. Then just rinse the plastic & dry off & replace in the ziploc. On my bass boat with carpet, I use a smooth rubber mat if I need to lay a fish down. And for some reason, it is usually the larger bass that die the easiest from laying them in the dirt & grass.

You can consider that second fish dead. If she's still alive she's lucky. Never grip a bass like that it is known as the death grip. Also, try and keep the fish off of the ground, especially the big girls. Lastly, even if it's a dink, drop em in the water man don't toss em so hard. Nonetheless great fish and awesome footage of florida fishing. subbed.

Cool thanks for the advice. Yeah actually my first bite of the day from a snook came on a white fluke its the same thing as a zoom super fluke just made by Creme lures. I got that bite just flipping under docks and my drag was set a little loose and I did not get a good hook set so the snook got away.:( It was only like 5-6lbs but it would of been an awesome first snook.

Nice couple bass. Congrats. Although my experience tells me they were both hovering right at 8 lbs each. Certainly no heavier than that. I know because I have three 12 lb bass under my belt, several/at least 4 or 5 that topped 10 lbs. One 9 lb, and countless 7 & 8 lb'ers. I know from experience that "length/girth formula" cannot be relied upon. I've tested the formula against scales that I know were accurate, and the formula is "all over the place" and was wrong every time. You really need to pack along a 30" by 12" piece of plastic just big enough to lay out on the ground, if your gonna do that with largemouth bass. The smooth plastic will preserve the protective slime coating on the fish. Laying them in the dirt & grass like that, rubs most of their slime coating off, and their chances of getting a fatal infection, especially in these nasty shallow canals, is much greater. The fish can die hours or days later, even though it swam off just fine. And trust me, I have seen plenty of these Florida bass die from doing just that. Before we "knew better" as kids, we did the same thing, and quite often go fishing the very next day, only to find a bass we had caught the day before, floating dead on the surface. A piece of plastic can be rinsed & wiped dry to fold up & place in a ziploc baggie to stow nicely in your tacklebag & take up virtually no space. I use this method EVERY TIME I fish from the banks. And on my bass boat with carpet, I use a smooth rubber mat for laying fish on when I need to. For some reason, it is the bigger bass that die easier when their slime is rubbed off in dirt & grass. Just sayin'. Enjoyed the video, thank you.
@FishAholicTV8 жыл бұрын
+Howabouthetruth Sounds good and thanks for your advice and input. Yeah thats why on the weight I never said "I Caught two 9lb Bass" through out the video I state estimates. Ive been told bass in Florida weigh more then bass in the north. Which I can see to be true. What is your opinion? My apologies for laying the bass on the ground I should know better but I got the butterflies of Florida fishing and needed someway to record the length or the biggest bass I ever caught.
