The MA15+ rating was introduced in May 1993. The first to get it was a film called Chain of Desire on 17 May, followed by To Protect and Serve on 18 May :) I think Silence of the Lambs fits well into MA15+ (it's current rating). It's definitely not an R18+ film.

@@Tubewings Now what's interesting is Interspecies Reviewers was rated MA-15+ in Australia (or TV-MA in the US) censored however the uncensored version was picked up by a hen tai studio in the US (despite being nothing more then a really spicy ecchi) and was OUTRIGHT BANNED in Aus! Now in Germany it was rated 16 but only the 3rd episode was 18 (but not the same kind of 18+ it has in the US) confusingly enough? Since the American 18+ can ONLY appear on home video (you would not find it on most streaming sites, much like X) whereas you can find the German 18 on streaming NO PROBLEM! The manga was said to be tamer and it was rated M (equivalent to R-18+) but the show was EVEN WORSE than that!!!
