the Revo 16 should easily be able to do 7 mph in calm conditions.

7mph is difficult to achieve in a fishing kayak, but there’s no doubt the Revo 16 is definitely the fastest Hobie! In Stealth Fisha 555 I’ve hit 6.4mph and it’s 18 feet long. But... I’m 68 years old, so younger definitely equals faster!🎣😃

Fishing kayaks have to much drag i never seen one go 7mph and if one can get it up to 7 its a long 20ft boat and they can’t maintain that speed for long.

Any downside to going with a Revolution 16?

Honestly the Revolution 16 is better in every way. It’s faster, more stable, and an all around better choice for both harbor fishing and fishing offshore. If at all possible try to purchase a 2017 or newer Revolution. The 2017 and later models include the 180 Mirage drive that allows you to go forward and backward. Earlier models don’t have the reverse feature. The extra couple of feet in length is definitely a good thing!🎣😃

How is the revolution in rough windy conditions big swells I live in Central Florida I have a pro angler 14 in the last six months I’ve gone over in it probably two or three times because of the height so the wind grabs it way easier but I’m thinking about getting a revolution 13 or 16 just wondering your opinion on both thank you

Derek Smith honestly the Revolution 16 would be the way to go in rough water conditions! One advantage that the Revolution series has over the PA is the ability to really lower the seat to the point where you are just an inch or two above the deck. The Revolution 16 will definitely give you more directional stability!🎣😃
