How long was she in labor at that point when she started to struggle? She looks like my Clara and always freaks me out when I see goats that look like mine struggle with this issues😣 You did awesome Heather! So smooth and quick I love watching your channel because we love a lot of the same things and yet we have different approaches to them. I would have been all over those babies when born and full of stuff because it gives me anxiety lol (for real though) And you let them do their thing and take care of it themselves! All they really need is to breathe, stand, and nurse. Basically I'm looking for strong and vigorous kids and these kids were awesome! Margot was in early labor 6h before when I was down there with Schwanli (the white Nubian cross). I went to bed after Schwanli gave birth because Margot wasn't exactly in full blown active labor. When we woke up I saw her on my baby monitor pawing the ground and moving around a lot and being vocal. I think her babies were stuck like that before I saw her on the monitor. So they had been stuck over an hour I'm sure. But I wanted to give her that time and assess what I really thought was going on before I did an internal. Not ruminating is not good. Especially if they are not doing something like actively pushing while not ruminating. And then she started panting. I didn't see her have any contractions so she was clearly stalled out. Not having contractions could have meant that she wasn't in active labor still, so that by itself isn't reason to check her. It was that combined with the panting and not ruminating that had me checking!

@@SageandStoneHomestead the combination of factors was not good, I had to check one of mine who was taking forever and I was afraid she wasn’t dilated enough but the kid was right there stuck (instead of looking down he was looking to the side and he was over 4 pounds and a singleton for a first time freshener) so I also want to work on keeping calm for them ( I looked like I was but I was freaking out and she knew it) lol It is hard to determine when so I appreciate the details they really help ❤️

I got a good one last time by Deborah Nieman and it helped a lot (tons of pics showing you what it looks like) but not so much when things go sideways ( not m h detail I mean) so I will check them out from the library a week before kissing too so I refresh my mind 😂 Thanks again Heather!
