I will follow your lead and do the best out of this situation, starting a youtube channel in Germany. No one "normal" knows anything about stargardt here, and all you find on youtube is always negative. I want to change that. Awesome. Unfortunately I haven’t figured out on my iPhone how to select text to edit after Siri butchers what I’m trying to say, but thanks for the input from your guests. I would absolutely love to have a Mac Book of some kind because I actually started out with an Apple IIe with an Echo speech synthesizer card and speaker in high school, and I used Braille Edit Express (BEX.) So I may be showing my age, but we’ve come a long way since the ‘80’s.

Hah, Best technology is the person next to you, behind the counter or who waits on you! I never thought of that as a blind skill. I do always ask what the specials are and if it sounds good enough, get that. I feel so much less alone now! ;)

Just found your channel love it! I am currently in a situation where My Rp is getting worse low vision and no night vision. I have been an android user since 2008 when I switched from iPhone 3g. Now that my vision is getting worse I am contemplating on switching back to apple, I have been told that ios is better than android for the vision impaired. Was wondering about your thoughts on this?

That is a very long and complicated question! LOL! I have several videos on this but I will give you a summary of my thoughts. In my opinion and experience, if you need magnification then android is the way to go. It has a Sapir your Magnifier and the customization options allow you to make the elements much easier to see. However, if you are going to be using a screen reader then iOS is the way to go. Even though it’s getting much better and is closing the gap, talkback isn’t as good as voiceover. Voiceover tends to be more reliable and slightly easier and less frustrating to use.

They were using voiceover on their Apple products. I was using talk back on android.
