One of the things I really like about branded synchro is it can play around dimensional barrier as you're not locked into 1 particular extra deck card type. Also, with SP little night and Bystial dis pater, it's really easy to make sure you have a dark/light monster to banish which gives you more fuel for fusions/synchros.

Love the lists. I've been torn between which ones to play because both versions are fun af but the 40 card no-nonsense Branded Despia helps differentiate a lot. Just deciding if I should get a third Quem for synchro 😢

Third Quem for synchro is absolutely ideal but I know shes gone up in price recently a lot which sucks

I saw a budget option with Incredible Ecclesia and Golden Sword Soul to: - Special Ecclesia - Tribute it for Golden Sword Soul - Banish Her for a Bystial - Synchro Dis Pater - Return Her to the field - Quick Effect her into Albaz for super poly like effect or make a fusion

Sounds interesting as a replacement for quem (especially since apparently shes gone a bit up in price), though less natural synergy with the other branded cards

@@YamiElut she can be searched by high spirits and also comes back to hand at the end phase if there's a fusion on the grave, which is also achieved by that card. Don't know. The only drawback is that she searches swordsouls instead of branded cards

@@ClubLady right yeah, I just mean in terms of what you described quem does all those same things (lv 4 tuner, sends body to grave for bystials etc) but also has all the added bonuses of searching spells through the graveyard and reborning fusions/cartesia/albaz Still a really interesting idea though, I always feel like I want to experiment with ecclesia more but I never really get around to it

What would you consider the threshold number of Bystials to start playing regained in the Despia deck? Currently running one of each except Baldrake.

One of each no baldrake sounds decent, if it were me though I’d probably bump the bystial lubellion to either 2 or 3 though depending on how much space you have. That way you have a direct way to search any other name and opening him is the least convoluted way to get those cards in the backrow

I've been on a serious Branded Synchro kick, I completely cut Branded Beast as I'm playing a 40 card build and it to me is just another brick. I finally got a playset of Thrust and my main deck choice, my going first options for it are OFC D Barrier, but I also play 1 copy of Eradicator Epidemic Virus since all your level 6 Bystials are conveniently Dark and have 2500 attack

I have been trying the Branded Synchro variant for awhile now. I'm also a huge fan of Super Poly and try to incorporate it into the build. I don't see a lot of people that tend to play it in the build though, probably because it makes the Extra deck choices even tighter since at bare minimum you would want to include Garura and Mudswamp. What are your thoughts on this?

I’ve considered this as well and I actually think it could be cool depending on the format since it doesnt lock you to fusions or anything. I’d say right now the reasons I dont play it in the synchro build are as follows: Board breakers are overall weaker than hand traps atm, and since synchro has more room for non engine without gutting its consistency I have 9 handtrap slots for ash imperm and nibiru. The thing you also must consider is branded regained being a constant draw machine. If you draw into ash, nibiru, or a bystial from regained even on your opponents turn that card in your hand is live where super poly would not be. If board breakers were cooking right now then I’d probably swap nibiru for something like super poly/dark ruler/etc if it was worth it, but the combination of those two things right now keep me from doing it in the synchro build

Cut b fusion the 1 in the syncho build and play 3 high spirits it's the best card. Up the dragon bystail count multiple albion in the main deck can help with consistency also high spirits target. Actually think high spirits is more important in synchro branded than fusion as you want to have links and syncho on going 1st board. Then have b fusion be the follow up for the next turn. Also you will get people holding the ash the whole turn. For a branded fusion Which never comes.

What decks in this format are more vulnerable to Super Poly?

It depends on the deck but moreso depends on what board the other player decides to end on. Mannadium for example is a mudragon if they end on baronne + apoullousa or dis pater + chaos angel, and a deck like rescue ace varies a lot with the endboard depending on the player. Even if you cant go directly into mudragon or garura or whatever super poly is a guaranteed way to get rid of something like sp little knight and make mirrorjade or something like quaeritis, and setting super poly going first can be good to hit something midway through their turn (rescue ace can potentially play into both mudragon and garura depending on the ordering, and mudragon is good if you can make it since rescue ace has problems when they cant target your monsters) You do have to play it by ear but usually there is a way to make it worthwhile. If youre in a matchup where super poly is actually completely useless then we side it out for a hand trap or something Thats the thinking, anyway

What’s the main reason people don’t run tax dragon anymore? Is it just too much extra deck space since you need to run two

Branded always has an extra deck space problem because there are so many ways to build the main deck. I don’t think you need 2 Masquerade, but I still think its really solid for time as well as to close out a game where your opp’s LP are already very low once youve began establishing a board I think the builds that run 2 Masquerade have a strategy that really revolves around it, but you can absolutely just play the 1

You can, I don’t feel its super necessary though. There are some builds going around that play Regained with no Beast, in which case I would run Chimera But with consistent access to bystials and branded beast I dont find myself ever wanting Chimera that badly

Super poly is only very good with the extra targets in the extra it's sucks. Branded also topped last ycs where chimera at it sucks 😞

For brand synchro, why no guardian chimera instead of masquerade? I like ur logic of something generic and the burn but doesn’t chimera add another option for going second?

Guardian chimera isnt wrong in the synchro version, but I never find myself actually wanting/needing it. The deck has no shortage of removal already and things like branded lost protect it better in despia. In a version of synchro with regained but without beast though I think it may make more sense
