Cross-plane crankshaft. Gives the trans-4 engine the sound and much of the torque of a V-twin. Loses a bit at the top end, but more than makes up for it down low. Sounds awesome guys! Keep up the good work.

I must say, I'm not usually a fan of inline four bikes, usually I love the sound of a twin cylinder. Seriously, I couldn't have cared less about anything with four cylinders. But the other day, I got passed by an R1, and fuck me, what a sound! It sounds WAY better than those every other dime-a-dozen Japanese sportbike out there. I'm really impressed, and genuinely surprised that a straight four sounds like that. I have much more respect for R1's now. Thanks for posting this video.

Two Brothers is the official Squid exhaust. Look at any bike club, guaranteed 7 outta 10 riders in their group have Two Brothers. I counted this past sat up at Mulholland. It was a pretty funny site to see. They all had 2 inch chicken strips as well. Most bike club guys don't know squat about performance products. They just wanna be seen and heard in their cities.

The reason this engine sounds like a V8, is because like V8 engines, it has a cross plane crankshaft. Nearly all other I4 engines there are use flat plane crank shafts, which gives them their distinct buzzing noise. Ferrari V8s also use flat plane crank shafts, which is why they sound different from other V8s.

It sounds like a V8 cause an R1 uses and uneven firing order in the cylinders, so it give it the "loppy" sound to the exhaust, but not quite like a harley.

If the engine has no load on it (in neutral) there is nothing to transfer the power it's still making but the engine components. That crossplane crankshaft won't look pretty after all the bearings need to be replaced. It's your bike though.

Exhaust is good in quality, I have one on my CBR600F4i and it sounds good, but on the R1 it sounds like crap for some reason. No offense to you, if you like the sound it's a great exhaust, it's super light, good choice.

Well I like the bikes from the mid to late 90's, I just like the bigger bikes with the bigger fairings, they are trying to make the bike lighter but its like there isnt even fairings on the bike their sooo small. And fairings don't even weigh that much. They need to look at how Ducati designs their bikes, they don't chop off the fairings the only other new bike I like right now is the 09 R-1, the front headlights look wicked

A slip on is a slip on. Most wont do anything but drop weight and look/sound different from stock. That being said... It is really just preference. I dont prefer 2Bro exhausts on any bike. Id rather have a Akra or Leo on slip on and full systems. And its great that you're enjoying your bike, but all that revving of the engine when there is no load on it is just a bad idea.
