Two Bulleids Over Shap

9th. April 2022 saw two Bulleid locomotives working tours over Shap within fifteen minutes of each other.
The first saw 34046 'Braunton' with 'The Lakelander' operated by Saphos Trains which started at Rugby with steam coming on at Preston and thence to Carlisle . After a break the tour continued around the Cumbrian Coast route. My shot is taken at Shap Wells.
The second train, organised by Steam Dreams, started at Euston with electric power to Carnforth with 35018 'British India Line' taking the train from there to Carlisle and then south over the Settle and Carlisle. The first shot is taken from the same position as for 34046 with a slightly wider angle used. The second shot sees 35018 working really well at Stockber making a great sound. I left the camera running after the train had passed as there was a Curlew singing merrily as well as the sheep and lambs bleating at the nearby farm

Great shots. You always capture that steam in the landscape which i love. Especially enjoyed watching this one as i was travelling on The Lakelander. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks very much. I was lisitening on headphones at Stockber and just had to let the video run on to capture the Curlew. I think he enjoyed the run of BIL!

I think Braunton was doing just as well as the bigger loco with if anything a heavier load (11 + Brush vs. 12)
