Recoded 18 August 1934. U.S. issue (which I guess was the first) - Columbia 2943-D; mx: 15618. Written for the Broadway stage comedy "Kill That Story" which opened 29 August 1934 & ran for 117 performances. George Beuler (vo), Angie Rattinger and another (tp), unknown (tb), Jimmy Lytell (cl, as), Charles Dale (cl, as, bar), Ernest White, Murray Cohan (cl, ts), Leo Kruczck, Lou Kosloff, Joe Baum (vn), Johnny Green (p, ldr), David Terry (p), Perry Botkin (g), Kaspar Markowitz (sb), Al Lapin (dm). My guess would be that it was recorded in New York though someone familiar with the musicians might know where they were based. Music by Lew Pollack. Lyric by Paul Francis Webster. Jack Jackson also recorded a nice version of this song in London with Albert Hunter providing the vocal refrain.
